Chapter 79: The Era of Storms

Honghe Town is a remote town. It is located on the border and is surrounded by wilderness. It is dozens of miles away from the nearest big city.  w w . . c o m

In the storm of the times for more than a year, Honghe Town was like a broken ship tossed in the wind and rain. Even if it was swept by the tail of the storm, it felt like it was unbearable.

The skyrocketing prices, inconvenient transportation, the advent of the contractor era, the ensuing major changes in the earth, and the subsequent biological explosion have left the people of this remote town overwhelmed and can only bear the painful changes of the times.  the harm caused to them.

People in the town watch TV every day, watching the myth-like stories played on TV, and feel that they are so far away from them. Is that really something that exists in reality?

"What kind of contractor? Just because prices have risen, the railway that was so easy to build is no longer open to traffic. By the way, why doesn't a contractor show up in our town to let us see what it's like?"

"How can we say that the earth has changed just by changing it? Isn't this too unreliable? It doesn't feel much bigger. The two acres of land in my house are still two acres of land!"

"But having said that, there have been a lot of changes in the wilderness over there during this period. I heard people getting hurt many times."

Some time ago, the townspeople always liked to gather together in their free time, complain about the injustice of God, gossip about the incomprehensible changes of the times, and then continue to live the same life, only more constrained.

Fortunately, the land is vast and sparsely populated. Everyone has a few acres of land at home, so they can grow vegetables and food, so they don¡¯t have to worry about food and clothing.

Times are changing so fast, and Honghe Town is a real rural corner. If it weren't for a computer bought cheaply when home appliances were sent to the countryside, Ye Huan, a non-illiterate who had the good fortune to have finished high school, would be able to watch the changes in the world.  There is a sense of alienation from being excluded from the times.

Only when he looked up and saw the lush, waist-deep wild grass that seemed to have grown overnight in the wilderness, he suddenly felt that this dream-like era was really around him, and  It affects your life every moment.

The times caused him to lose the opportunity to go to school. The sudden terrain change once interrupted the connection between Honghe Town and the outside world, which in turn delayed his studies. Later, the railway transportation was completely interrupted, and Ye Huan shrugged.  With a shrug, he accepted his fate whether he wanted to or not: he would never have the chance to go to college again.

Now, the times have given Honghe Town a new space for development. I don¡¯t know when it started, but like a wave of wind, Honghe Town, as a leading fortress heading into the wild, suddenly became prosperous.

A large number of outsiders came to Honghe Town to stay, supply and rest temporarily. They then set off from Honghe Town and headed deeper into the jungle outside. At first, the people in the town looked at these people holding various guns and ammunition.  Explorers and hunters were too scared to approach, thinking they were desperadoes from somewhere. Now, in a short time, these people have become the source of income for most people in Honghe Town, and everyone is accustomed to it.

Ye Huan's family is no exception. They were originally very poor, but the little income the family had was not enough to cover their parents' expenses throughout the year.  Now it's better. Those outsiders are more generous than the others. They converted the houses facing the street into hotels and run a small breakfast and dinner business. They only serve the guests at home. They can easily earn a lot of money without any effort.  It's enough for expenses and there's quite a surplus.

Ye Huan sounds mature when he talks about it. After all, he is still young. After finishing the hotel work every day, he likes to run around when he has time. The current Honghe Town is amazing. Just outside the town, a large animal park has been opened.  In the trading market, people come and go every day. It is said that there are many novel things there. Many animals that people have never seen before have been caught and sold there on the spot. Ye Huan is indescribably curious.  I wanted to take a look, but unfortunately I never had the chance.

The house at home is really not of high quality, and even if it is used as a hotel, it cannot be sold for a good price. In order to decorate and take care of the house, the family once again fell into a deficit. As a last resort, my father accepted other people's money some time ago and went out with those expeditions.  , giving people pointers and directions. It is said that although it is not of great use, it is still of some use, and the money is also very generous. After all, the degree of danger is really not small.

How dangerous is it in the wild now?  I heard that some of the villages further inside are now abandoned, and many of them have moved into Honghe Town. Those hunters who are armed with live ammunition are showing off their power when they go in, as if they can pick up big money with their hands, but in fact they are not allowed to be hunted one day.  Bring back two?  It¡¯s not uncommon for anyone to die there!

Ye Huan really said in his heart:He was so worried that he spent the two days at home when his father was out. He could dream at night that his father had blood on his face, and that he had been bitten half of his body by some ferocious animal. It was bloody!  He was so frightened that he broke into a cold sweat and woke up from his dream.

Now my dad is back. Although I can¡¯t say he¡¯s not sick or in trouble, he was stung by a bee on his forehead. I don¡¯t know if it was a wasp or some kind of bee. The sting was a big bag the size of a quail egg. He made me feel uncomfortable every day for the past two days. Okay.  It was nothing serious, and he was fine after just two days of raising it.

Now, seizing the opportunity, Ye Huan slipped out with the family's little black dog.

The little black dog was caught from a relative's house. It is only two months old now, but it is quite smart and seems to be able to understand people's words. Ye Huan likes it very much. He plays with it all day long whenever he has nothing to do.  He also bathes very frequently. This little thing is not afraid of bathing like other dogs. Every time he is bathed, he looks very comfortable, and his expression feels like a human being.

Ye Huan suspected that this little thing must have developed spiritual intelligence!

There were a few times when he seemed to see this little thing howling crazily at the moon, and he didn't know if it was absorbing the essence of the sun and the moon.

He just heard that there are people in the city specializing in collecting these intelligent animals. Domestic ones are more valuable than wild ones!  The chicken farms and pig farms in the city specialize in domestically raised chickens and pigs with smart intelligence. It is said that there is such a thing. As long as you control a chicken king/pig king, you can open a breeding farm.  I feel a lot more relaxed, and I don¡¯t know if that¡¯s the case.

Those wild animals with intelligence turned on were not so lucky in comparison. After all, they were wild, and every one of them was very manic. It is said that they were transported back to the city, either sent to scientific research institutions for research, or sold to wealthy people.  Contractors eat it as meat. It is said that it is very expensive and cannot be afforded by ordinary people. It is very good for the body.

However, although it is very valuable and it is not given out to be abused, Xiao Hei still won¡¯t sell it!

Riding an electric bike, we arrived at the entrance of the town in a short time. Walking further out, we found ourselves in the wilderness, and the animal trading market was built next to it.

The outside of the town was originally a saline-alkali land, not to mention barren of grass. In the past, there was only a few grasses. However, a few months ago, I can¡¯t remember exactly when it was. Anyway, it only took a few days. This time  The vast wilderness was covered with weeds. At first, the people in the town were surprised and a little happy. The grass had grown much longer. It would be convenient to go home and raise rabbits, right?

I never thought that when there was more grass, there would be more bugs. Later, slowly, all kinds of wild beasts came, even wolves!

It¡¯s not like the weeds at the entrance of the town haven¡¯t been cleaned up, but they grew so fast and cost a lot of money. Later, they couldn¡¯t be controlled and no one took care of them. Now, people are coming and going here all day long, and a lot of them have been trampled down.  Together, we found a way out.

After leaving the electric car at the car viewing area, Ye Huan quickly slipped into the animal market.

    It¡¯s so lively!

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I heard all kinds of weird noises here, and before I even walked in, there was a strong, stinky smell. It really deserves to be an animal market.

When you walk into the market, there are people everywhere, but the place is big, so it doesn¡¯t seem crowded.

It is different from the general livestock trading market in the countryside. Ten out of ten of the live animals here are high-end goods with intelligence opened. In other words, they all have the potential to become fairies, but the time is still short, and they have not done much.  There was no time to practice, but at a glance, they were all extraordinary.

Apart from anything else, the cage they are kept in is unusual. The material used in the cage is smelted from a special alloy. When the sun shines on it, it shows a strange and colorful color. It is said that it is four to five times harder than ordinary steel.  It's more than twice as strong, and its toughness is pretty good. Even a cage is worth a lot of money. Each alloy welding rod is as thick as a thumb, and it looks indestructible.

What makes Ye Huan even more curious is that these cages are not simply placed on the ground. The four corners of the cages have additional protruding hollow rings, which are stuck on the four steel pillars exposed on the cement floor.

"Uncle, why is your cage still stuck on the pillar?"

Ye Huan asked curiously. He saw the animal in the cage. It was a furry animal about one meter long with a short tail. He didn't know its name. It looked very fierce and long.  It looks a bit like a cat and a bit like a lion, with slightly squinted eyes, gray-blue eyes, and a tuft of black hair standing up on each ear.

The seller is a majestic man. He is dressed in a way you would never see in an ordinary farmer's market: his upper body is an elastic vest full of pockets, and two yellow and orange elastic chains are hung on his shoulders.  It's hard to say what model it is, but it looks like a very ferocious big gun.

A month ago, when Ye Huan saw a guy dressed like this, he would have hid as far away as possible, but he was used to it this time. There were several hunters dressed like this living in his house.  Those who knew that although they had bad tempers, they did not dare to attack ordinary people for no reason. They seemed to have some special scruples.  (To be continued.
