Volume 2 Chapter 5. Guerrillas of Death

Previous page        Return to Catalog        Next page

I once calculated for the soldiers that before they became famous, they risked being shot every day to earn the sixpence.  ¡ª¡ªCharles Dibdin (English dramatist and composer.)

    ¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

"General, a small-scale enemy infiltration was detected in the fifth theater."

At the combat headquarters, the adjutant quickly came to Wilson's side and connected the microcomputer to the big screen. With a flash, a picture from the military satellite appeared. It was dozens of small military camps in the mountainous area.

"Alaska Mountains?" Wilson touched the beard on his chin and squinted at the picture. He paused, turned and asked: "How about the third and fourth theaters near the fifth theater?"

    "everything is normal."

The adjutant replied. He clicked the button on the microcomputer a few times and replied: "The defense lines in the third and fourth theaters are stable, but the enemies in the second theater are beginning to become denser." He clicked the button on the microcomputer.  The picture turned to the screen, pointing to the huge crater above and saying: "However, the enemy has begun to put heavy artillery into the second battlefield."

"Heavy artillery?" Wilson frowned slightly. He divided the big screen into two parts, namely the fifth theater and the second theater. But after thinking about it, the third and fourth theaters were combined into one, so he put it on top.

"Order the 125th Artillery Regiment to station in the second theater, and the 41st Aviation Battalion to follow."

Wilson immediately made the deployment. He frowned and considered the five theaters, summarized the enemy's offensive, and pointed out several important targets on the screen: "Order the 105th Infantry Division to enter the second theater for support."

"But the 105th Infantry Division is mostly light infantry. If it rashly enters the second theater, will there be heavy casualties?"

The adjutant was stunned, and quickly recorded the order on the microcomputer. He looked at Wilson and said hesitantly: "The enemy's light armored troops and heavy artillery troops have already appeared. Pulling them up can no longer solve the rotten situation on the second battlefield.  .¡±

"Just let them protect the 125th Artillery Regiment and the 41st Aviation Battalion. They are not without heavy weapons and anti-armor capabilities. As for the frontal battlefield, our armored divisions and allies can handle it."

Wilson looked at his young adjutant with admiration, nodded and replied.  The adjutant is not the messenger responsible for delivering messages. More often, he should consider the battlefield situation with the general and put forward his own opinions. A good adjutant will often grow into a qualified general on his own in the end.

"What happened to that F-class superpower?"

After a pause, Wilson looked at the fifth theater on the screen, raised his head and asked slowly: "I remember that he went to the fifth theater with the five thousand recruits, and went to serve in the sentry tower group."

    "Missing."

The adjutant uttered two words softly, and he replied: "When they were heading to the fifth theater, they were ambushed by the enemy." He paused, uploaded the pictures on the microcomputer, pointed at them, and said: "We found other  Human corpses, and a code left behind from the signal transmitter index.¡±

"It was precisely because of the code that we discovered that the enemy began to infiltrate in the fifth theater."

Gently changing the picture to an overhead view of the fifth theater, the adjutant pointed out a few general directions with his hand. He paused for a moment, as if thinking, but then quickly said: "We were still a little slow to be careful. The enemy relied on small aircraft."  To infiltrate, a large number of light infantry have seized strategic points in the mountains."

"But what's the use? This is just to die." Wilson frowned tightly. He looked at the image of the fifth theater and gestured with the roads with his hand: "Even if the supply line is destroyed, it will be tightened."  Sweep away the sweeping that comes next.¡±

"Forget it if you disappear, superpowers will not die so easily."

Looking at the entire big screen, Wilson said: "Order the 221st Mountain Division to step up the elimination of enemies in the fifth theater." After thinking about it, he clicked on a few more theaters, looked at the distribution and defense lines above, and added: "Order  The 23rd Electronics Battalion followed and the reconnaissance battalion was deployed to conduct counter-infiltration operations."

    "Didi didi."

Just as he was talking, the microcomputer in the adjutant's hand suddenly rang. When he picked it up, his face turned livid. He looked at Wilson and quickly transmitted the information to the screen, and said quickly: "General, the third theater is under attack by a large number of enemy armored forces.  The outer defense line has been lost, so all the inner defense lines have been moved to resist."

    "What?"

Wilson watched the strategic map undergo drastic changes. The third theater was instantly reduced by half. He suddenly became angry, clenched his fists and roared: "Are the Satellite Strategic Forces eating shit?  So many armored troops were assembled, but they were not discovered?  !  "

This is indeed a dereliction of duty by the satellite strategic forces, but the southern front is more important and attracts more attention. It is natural to reduce the number of satellite surveillance here.  The adjutant quickly explained: "General, there is news from the Satellite Strategic Force that the area has been covered by enemy electromagnetism, and a small number of satellites cannot monitor it."

Hearing this explanation, Wilson became angry but laughed: "Is this their explanation?" Rather than an explanation, this tone is more perfunctory. The Southern Front is important, isn't the Northern Front important?

"The second theater is of no value, the defense line is abandoned immediately, the troops retreat to the third theater for coordinated defense, the fourth theater sends troops to the third theater to support, and the fifth theater handles the infiltrating enemies on its own."

Wilson issued the order quickly. He looked at the entire big screen and always felt that something was wrong, but he couldn't explain it. In the end, he could only shake his head and sighed sadly: "Is the northern front in the Bering Strait inferior to the southern front?  , isn¡¯t it important?¡±

Edward ran quickly in the forest, like a vigorous cheetah, quickly passing through countless bushes. Even in such a primitive forest, it seemed as if he was on flat ground and had no impact.

But he quickly stopped because the originally dark forest in front of him already had a faint light.

"Finally out!" Edward swallowed. He had been walking in this huge forest for nearly two days, and finally followed a small aircraft flying in the sky and walked out of this place that made him hate it.  forest.

Slowly hiding his body in the bushes, Edward was still cautious, because the moment he walked out of the forest, he would be exposed to the sun.

With the front end of the M4-A1 assault rifle in his hand, Edward bent down and walked around several large trees, quietly exploring the front.

"What the hell, what is that?"

Outside the forest, there is a large pit filled with corpses. Not far away is a temporary charging camp. Three slightly damaged NS-5 anthropomorphic robots are guarding there, guarding the surroundings with rifles in their hands.  .

The corpses were all wearing the same three-color camouflage uniform as Edward, and some even had helmets on them. They were obviously regular troops from the Fifth Defense Area, not recruits like Edward without helmets.

"There are still guerrillas?" Edward frowned slightly, looking at the group of corpses, he suddenly understood a lot.

There are a lot of bullet marks and explosion marks on the edge of the temporary charging camp, and there are also many sunken white stubbles on the trees in the direction where Edward is hiding, which is obviously caused by someone shooting in this direction.

However, looking at the more than thirty corpses in the pit, you can understand that the guerrillas obviously did not take advantage, and the NS-5 successfully defended the camp and killed them with heavy casualties!

"May you live forever in heaven!"

Edward didn¡¯t believe in Christianity, but he still made a cross on his chest and closed his eyes quietly for three minutes of silence. Then he opened his eyes and raised his head, staring at the three NS-5 anthropomorphic robots that were obviously damaged.

It is obvious that the previous guerrillas used more than thirty people to kill three NS-5 anthropomorphic robots, but due to heavy casualties, they still did not continue the attack.  However, considering that the recruits did not have weapons and ammunition, it was already a very strong effort to defeat three robots.

"Free points!" Edward said with a disdainful smile, looking at the three remaining NS-5 anthropomorphic robots, quickly sliding down the hill where he was, and using the cover of shrubs and small trees, he successfully  Dive within less than fifty meters.

    "Come on baby!"

Holding the M4-A1 forward in his hand, Edward bent down and looked at the NS-5 who was closest to him, less than fifteen meters away. He was holding the rifle with his back facing him.  Hesitate, pull the trigger instantly!

"Bang, bang, bang -" It was still a precise three-shot burst. The muzzle jumped, and the three bullets were accurately sent into the chest of the NS-5 anthropomorphic robot. The huge muzzle velocity directly exploded the body into clusters of electric sparks.  .

    "Kill NS-5 anthropomorphic robot x 1. +500 points."

    "Kill NS-5 anthropomorphic robot x 1. +500 points."

The weak electronic sound echoed in his ears. Edward raised the corner of his mouth and smiled. He was half-kneeling and holding the M4-A1 assault rifle, three points and one line. Then he knocked down another NS-5 anthropomorphic robot to the ground, and he was covered in risk.  The electric sparks kept trembling.

    "Enemies found!""Fire!"

The indicator light on the chest of the remaining NS-5 immediately changed to red combat status. He immediately turned around and raised the rifle in his hand, aiming at Edward and about to pull the trigger, but Edward's movements were faster!

"Go to hell! You son of a bitch!"

Edward quickly moved the crosshair to the right, and before he could secure the silver-white body, he pulled the trigger. The bullets instantly passed through the NS-5's body, making bullet holes one by one, destroying the parts inside the body.  Make a "prick, prick, prick" sound.

    "Kill NS-5 anthropomorphic robot x 1. +500 points."

Edward stood up slowly and did not relax at all after killing the three NS-5 anthropomorphic robots. Who knew if there were other enemies in the field tent? He didn't want to be easily killed because of his relaxation!

With the M4-A1 in his hand raised forward, Edward bent over and looked warily at the temporary charging camp ahead.

    "Enemies found!"

Before getting close to the field tent, there was a mechanical sound coming from inside, and three red light-like light sources appeared on the side of the tent. Through the slightly open tent, it was clearly visible!

    ¡°What a cute fixed target!¡±

Edward raised the corner of his mouth slightly, raised the M4-A1 in his hand and put it on his shoulder, looked through the crosshair, aimed at the red light source, and gently pulled the trigger without thinking.  For him, it was just an extra treat.
