In the next month, after Wang Yuze asked Wang Xiao for instructions, he began a secret visit to various cities in Sichuan Province.  Along the way, Wang Yuze would only watch and talk, and would not interfere in local work.  This also gave him a profound impact on the strength of the entire western Sichuan.

Chongqing Qijiang Industrial Base is the first complete production base in western Sichuan. From steel smelting to petrochemicals to weapons manufacturing, everything can be produced in this industrial base.  However, the output value of this industrial base is relatively small.  However, it has to be said that in the early days of the rise of Western Sichuan, this industrial base did play a very important role.

In 1890, Qijiang Industrial Base produced a total of 10,000 tons of pig iron and 2,000 tons of steel.  The output of pig iron in the three provinces of western Sichuan has reached 50,000 tons, and the output of steel has reached 20 million tons.  At the same time, Japan's pig iron production was 100,000 tons and steel production was less than 10,000 tons.  Japan's Yawat Steel Works has not yet been completed and put into production.  The pig iron production of the three provinces in western Sichuan is almost half of Japan's.  Steel production also surpassed that of Japan.  Qijiang Arsenal produced 20,000 rifles and 100 imitation Maxim heavy machine guns.  There are more than two hundred artillery pieces of various types.  It provided favorable weapons later-stage support for the Western Sichuan Army.

As a comprehensive weapons factory, Qijiang Arsenal can produce everything from bullets to 155mm howitzers. Before the Chengdu Arsenal was completed and put into production, it was the largest arsenal in the country.

When faced with the massive attack by the Qing army, the Western Sichuan Army relied on the large amount of weapons and equipment produced by the Qijiang Arsenal to survive.  It can be said that Qijiang Industrial Base has made great contributions to the establishment and development of the Western Sichuan regime.

Panzhihua Industrial Base is the largest steel production base in western Sichuan.  In 1890, the output of pig iron reached 40,000 tons, and the output of steel products was nearly 20,000 tons.  It provides sufficient steel resources for various construction projects in western Sichuan.

Chengdu Industrial Base was the latest industrial base to be established. Even in 1890, only the first phase of the entire industrial base was completed.  It is densely populated with arsenals, various light and heavy machinery factories and other heavy industries, as well as light industrial factories such as cotton spinning, flour and daily chemicals.  It is estimated that the entire industrial base will not be fully completed until 1900.  By then, the annual output of 100,000 rifles, thousands of heavy machine guns, and thousands of artillery pieces will be achieved.  At the same time, there is also an airship manufacturing plant here, which can produce advanced airships that have reached the world's advanced level.  As early as when facing the Qing army's attack, the Western Sichuan Army had already begun to use airships.  The airships at that time were very simple and were mainly used for high-altitude reconnaissance and providing guidance for artillery.  Today's airships have begun to perform transportation and bombing missions.

In addition to visiting industrial bases, Wang Yuze also went deep into the people to understand people's sentiments.  In the three provinces under the jurisdiction of Western Sichuan, except for ethnic minority areas with poor regional conditions, the rest of the areas have basically solved the problem of food and clothing, and the people's living standards are leading the country.  At the same time, business was particularly prosperous, and commercial taxes accounted for almost half of the fiscal revenue of the three provinces in western Sichuan.  This is probably related to Wang Xiao himself being a businessman. After the establishment of the Western Sichuan regime, the mercantilist policy that has been implemented has made business in the three provinces of Western Sichuan very prosperous.  Businessmen from western Sichuan are spread all over the country.  With the powerful Western Sichuan Army as the backing, the Qing court and local governments in other provinces usually would not embarrass merchants in Western Sichuan.

The army is the most important place Wang Yuze visited.  After all, in this troubled world, you can only survive if you have a gun in your hand.  The powerful Western Sichuan Army is also the reason why the Western Sichuan regime can survive semi-finally.

The Western Sichuan Army has three divisions and ten brigades, each with more than 18,000 men.  Each division consists of three regiments, as well as artillery battalions, reconnaissance battalions, engineer battalions, guard battalions, supply battalions, and field hospitals.  Each regiment includes three battalions, as well as artillery company, reconnaissance company, guard company, engineer company, baggage company and field hospital, with a total of more than 4,000 people.  Each battalion includes 4 companies, as well as artillery platoon, reconnaissance platoon, guard platoon, health team, etc., totaling more than 1,000 people.  Each company has three platoons, plus a firepower group, including two 60mm mortars and two heavy machine guns, plus correspondents, guards and health workers, totaling more than 200 people.  Each platoon consists of three squads, plus a fire team.  Including a 37mm mortar and a heavy machine gun, a total of 50 people.  Each squad has 12 people, one sniper rifle and 11 Type 1888 rifles.  Among them, the mortar was originally invented during the Russo-Japanese War, but under Wang Xiao's order, this weapon had been invented in advance and equipped with the Western Sichuan Army, making the Western Sichuan Army's firepower reach a huge level.  improvement.  The mortars equipped by the Western Sichuan Army are mainly divided into two types: 60 mm caliber and 37 mm caliber.  The sniper rifle is an 1888-style rifle with a simple sight. Although it is not as powerful as the sniper rifles of later generations, it is undoubtedly ahead of the times.

Each brigade consists of 5 battalions plus two companies of artillery battalions, reconnaissance battalions, engineer battalions, guard battalions, supply battalions and field hospitals.  There are more than 8,000 people in the whole brigade.

For the deployment of the Western Sichuan Army, the teaching division was deployed in Chengdu, the first division was deployed in Panzhihua, and the second division was deployed in Chongqing.  The first brigade is deployed atIn Yuan Dynasty, the second brigade was deployed in Luzhou, the third brigade was deployed in Qijiang, the fourth brigade was deployed in Kangding, the fifth brigade was deployed in Mianyang, the sixth brigade was deployed in Liangshan, the seventh brigade was deployed in Bazhong, and the eighth brigade was deployed in Bazhong.  The 9th brigade is deployed in Lhasa, the 9th brigade is deployed in the Shigatse area, and the 10th brigade is deployed in the Qamdo area.  Among them, the 6th and 9th brigades are mountain infantry brigades, and the 4th and 10th brigades are cavalry brigades.

In addition, the Western Sichuan Army also has an Army Academy to train various talents for the Western Sichuan Army.  The current dean of the Army Academy is General Jiang Xingguo, who returned from studying in Germany and participated in the Franco-Prussian War. He is also one of the few lieutenant generals in the Western Sichuan Army.

The three provinces of Western Sichuan are not close to the sea. Therefore, the Western Sichuan Army has no navy and only has an inland river fleet with more than ten inland river gunboats and two thousand-ton destroyers.  This is not worth mentioning in front of many great powers.  Especially the main enemy, the Japanese Combined Fleet, is not even a fraction of others.

As for the Air Force, the Western Sichuan Army has three brigades with a total of hundreds of airships.  Most of them are small airships, and there are only twenty medium-sized airships with a load capacity of two tons.  In addition, Chengdu Airship Manufacturing Company has begun to develop a new generation of large airships with the help of German experts.  In terms of airship performance, the current air force of the Western Sichuan Army is considered to be world-class.  No country in the world now pays as much attention to the construction of its air force as the Western Sichuan Army.  Although the current airships are not yet able to play a decisive role in the war, Wang Xiao, as the ruler of the three provinces of Western Sichuan, attaches great importance to the construction of the air force, which makes the military in Western Sichuan also pay attention to the air force.  In addition, another epoch-making aircraft is also being researched in the Chengdu Industrial Base.  However, due to limitations of materials and power, it will still take a long time to achieve results.

Through this nearly month-long trip, Wang Yuze gained a more comprehensive understanding of the strength of the three provinces in western Sichuan.  With the financial resources of Western Sichuan, it is enough to expand the army more than three times.  Moreover, there are already enough light and heavy weapons in the weapons arsenal.  More importantly, the three provinces in western Sichuan have established a complete compulsory military service system.  Once war breaks out, the army will double in size within a month and reach 500,000 people within three months.  With such combat power, it is enough to sweep across the country.

After returning to Chengdu, Wang Yuze¡¯s blood boiled.  The three provinces in western Sichuan are undoubtedly a good platform.  As long as he can successfully take over power from Wang Xiao, he will definitely be able to defeat the Qing court with the powerful Western Sichuan Army.  Of course, when it comes to specific implementation, there are too many factors to consider.  Such as the great powers!  Today's China, except for western Sichuan, has basically fallen into the sphere of influence of the great powers and has become a colony of the great powers.  Britain, France and Tsarist Russia in the north.  These will become obstacles to the unification of the whole country in western Sichuan.

Just as he was assassinated before, the Japanese saw the threat of Western Sichuan, so they wanted to assassinate him at all costs. This caused turmoil in Western Sichuan, making Western Sichuan unable to continue to expand, and naturally unable to threaten Japan.

However, no matter how many difficulties there are, Wang Yuze will not give up.  After finally getting such an opportunity, he certainly hopes to make a name for himself in this era and create a future for China!
