"How did you prepare for this Hawaii plan?" Wang Yuze asked.  Taking Hawaii will undoubtedly depend on the navy.  Therefore, the General Staff and the Navy are mainly responsible for this plan.  The Military Intelligence Bureau is fully cooperating with the General Staff and the Navy.

"Your Majesty, over the past year, we have secretly sent thousands of elites into Hawaii under various names. The Military Intelligence Agency is in contact with the imprisoned Hawaiian Queen Liliuokalani, but Queen Liliuokalani  Under the surveillance of the Americans, the people from the Military Intelligence Agency have not yet found a suitable opportunity. Once Queen Liliuokalani agrees to our conditions, the fleet can set off. At that time, our people in Hawaii will cooperate with the Queen's support  to launch a coup to help the Queen regain the throne. Then, ask Queen Liliuokalani to declare herself a vassal state of our country. In this case, we can garrison troops in Hawaii in the name of protecting the vassal state. Our plan is to start from the Kingdom of Hawaii  The concessions in Oahu and Kauai will be used as the home port of the Pacific Fleet!" Zhang Cheng replied.

"So, how many troops are going to be used this time?" Wang Yuze asked.  Hawaii is undoubtedly an extremely important strategic location, and it must be ensured that it is controlled by China. Therefore, China must deploy heavy troops here.

"The Republic of Hawaii now rules Hawaii. They only have a thousand troops, and they lack heavy weapons and are lazy in training. The troops we secretly sent to the island are enough to defeat them!" Zhang Cheng said.

"Let's do this, deploy a Marine Corps brigade in Hawaii. Then, build coastal defense facilities at important ports such as Pearl Harbor. After we take Hawaii, we will have an insatiable feud with the United States, and there may even be a low-intensity incident.  naval battle. The Pacific Fleet must ensure victory in this war. However, even if we can win, the Americans will definitely not give up. With the strength of the United States, it will not take long to build a huge fleet. We  We must be prepared to defend Hawaii at a disadvantage!" Wang Yuze said.  Hawaii has not yet been annexed to the United States. This is China's last chance to acquire Hawaii.  Once Hawaii is annexed to the United States, it will be even more difficult for China to capture Hawaii.  However, this will cause China and the United States to completely fall out. With the current military strength of the United States, it may not be able to pose a threat to China, but the industrial strength of the United States is too huge. Once they shift their main energy from economic development to armament development,  They can arm a huge fleet in a short time.  When the time comes, China will still be fighting Japan, and Russia may even intervene. In this case, China will face a multi-front war.  By then, Hawaii is likely to face a siege by the U.S. Navy.  Therefore, after capturing Hawaii, the Chinese Navy must build a complete defense system.

"Yes, Your Majesty, I understand. We will completely arm Hawaii. When the time comes, it will not be that easy for the Americans to take away Hawaii!" Zhang Cheng said.  Once it captures Hawaii, China will take the lead in the battle for the Pacific. It will not be that easy for the United States to defeat China.

"Very good, then I will wait for the news of your victory!" Wang Yuze said.  Taking Hawaii is the most important step in Wang Yuze's Pacific strategy. It will become China's bridgehead against the United States.  Only Wang Yuze knows how terrible it will be once the United States enters a state of war. Therefore, China must seize the opportunity.  Taking Hawaii and establishing the Pacific Fleet to defend the United States is only the first step.  Afterwards, China would take advantage of the Spanish-American War or launch a separate war against Spain to seize the Philippines, Guandao and the Mariana Islands to form China's defense chain in the Pacific.  Finally, Japan was defeated and the Western powers were driven away from the Western Pacific.  At that time, it will slowly compete with the United States for the Pacific Ocean, and China will be almost in an invincible position.

Wang Yuze returned to Beijing in early June.  The Chinese Navy's Pacific Fleet was officially established at the end of June.  A large number of warships advanced to the Naha Port in the Ryukyu Islands to station, which made Japan very nervous.

In early July, the main force of the Pacific Fleet took advantage of the darkness to leave Naha Port and sailed into the vast Pacific Ocean.  Accompanying them are the Third Brigade of the Marine Corps, who will become the main force of China's defense in Hawaii.  Previously, a battalion of the Third Brigade had dispersed into Hawaii, waiting for the opportunity to launch a coup.

The Hawaiian Islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. They are the largest secondary archipelago among the Polynesian Islands. There are 132 large and small islands with a total area of ??16,650 square kilometers. Only 8 of the larger islands can be inhabited. Between 1778 and 1898, Hawaii was also  Called the "Sandwich Islands".

Hawaii is located in the center of the Pacific Ocean. Its unique geographical location has gradually made Hawaii an important transportation and trade center. It is also one of the areas where foreign forces entered earlier.

Chief Kamehameha used native products to introduce Westerners toHe acquired advanced weapons and boldly used foreign advisors to unify the Hawaiian Islands by force in 1810, establish the Kingdom of Hawaii, and establish a constitutional monarchy.  Since then, the Kingdom of Hawaii has had more frequent contact with the Western world.  Yet the white man brought not only goods and religion, but also disease.  Venereal diseases and plague nearly wiped out the Hawaiian population.  In the 50 years from 1778, when Captain Cook landed in Hawaii, to 1831, the population of Hawaii dropped sharply from 400,000 to 130,000.

In 1840 and in the following decades, American and Japanese immigrants and traders poured into Hawaii.  In 1842, the United States first recognized the Kingdom of Hawaii to ensure that it could intervene on the grounds of counter-invasion if Japan forcibly annexed Hawaii.

In 1850, France brought democracy to Hawaii with artillery fire, and a parliamentary system began to appear in the Kingdom of Hawaii.  At this time, workers and immigrants from European countries and Central and South America came to Hawaii one after another, forming a melting pot of nations that combined the East and the West.  In 1864, during the Civil War, Hawaii was forced to sell land to the Union Army to grow coffee.  The United States leased Hawaiian seaports.  In 1873, the U.S. Secretary of State proactively stated that he would not allow other countries to annex Hawaii.  Until the 1890s, the Kingdom of Hawaii existed as an independent monarchy and was recognized by the United States, Britain, France, Japan, and Germany at that time.

1887, in Laurent?  A?  Under Thurston's auspices, the Kingdom of Hawaii implemented the so-called "Bayonet Constitution", which greatly reduced the power of the monarch through income and property restrictions, increasing the power of European subjects and the influence of the Privy Council.  After Queen Liliuokalani ascended the throne in 1891, due to the issue of economic control, she had increasingly sharp conflicts with American and European residents, and there was heavy opposition.  Therefore, the Queen hopes to regain her supreme power through a new constitution.

On January 14, 1893, Queen Liliuokalani tried to promulgate her new constitution. Although she failed, the move finally became the trigger for the coup.  On the day the Queen attempted to promulgate a new constitution, opponents held a meeting and determined the ultimate goal of the action: to depose the Queen, overthrow the monarchy, seek support from the United States, and even annexation.  On January 17, a policeman was shot and wounded while preventing a carriage carrying weapons from entering the Honolulu Rifles, thus directly stimulating the start of the coup.  The Security Committee was worried that this incident would expose their conspiracy and the royal government would take the lead in taking armed action to nip the coup in its infancy. Therefore, the Committee took the lead in launching a coup.  They organized approximately 1,500 heavily armed soldiers from the Honolulu Rifles (all non-Native Hawaiians) to advance towards the palace.  Eventually, the non-Indigenous soldiers were stationed at the Ariolani Palace, just a street away from the Royal Palace, and awaited a reply from the Queen.

At the same time, the committee asked U.S. Secretary of State George?  L?  Stephens sought help and asked the US military to land in Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii, to ensure the personal and property safety of ordinary American residents there.  Finally, Stephens gathered a company of armed marines and two companies of sailors to Hawaii, and the 162 soldiers successfully landed on January 16.  This well-equipped force claimed to maintain a relatively neutral position. They did not enter the palace, did not actually participate in the coup, and did not occupy any territory. However, it is undeniable that their presence did stimulate the fighting spirit of the local Americans.  , and added a lot of pressure to the Hawaiian royal family.

Finally, under the Queen¡¯s purpose of ¡°avoiding bloodshed¡± and the strong advice of her trusted ministers, Queen Liliuokalani announced her surrender.  The Honolulu Rifles occupied government buildings, disbanded the Royal Guard, and declared a provisional government.  The coup of 1893 was successful and the Kingdom of Hawaii was overthrown.  There was almost no bloodshed during the coup, and only one policeman was injured.  Historian William Russ commented: "The prohibition of any form of armed conflict makes it impossible for the Queen to protect herself." It is precisely because Queen Lily believes that blood and killing should not be brought to her people, therefore, the military support of the rebels is  The Queen chose to surrender without any bloodshed.

After the coup, the Queen was placed under house arrest in the Ilani Palace, Hawaii's monarchy was replaced by the rebel provisional government, and Hawaii entered the period of republic.

July 4, 1897, this day is the United States National Day. President Sandford of the Kingdom of Hawaii?  Dole and many people who hope that Hawaii will be incorporated into the United States have started to celebrate, because through their efforts, the United States has begun to consider whether to admit Hawaii as the 50th state of the United States.  The soldiers of the Republic of Hawaii who were guarding Irani also relaxed their vigilance.  At this moment, several black figures successfully sneaked into the palace with the help of the night.
