Chinese navy warships forcibly inspected British merchant ships, which aroused great dissatisfaction among these British businessmen.  Some radical businessmen even asked the sailors on the ship to take up arms to protect their interests.  However, under the gunfire of the Chinese warship, they still chose to cooperate.  As ship owners and sailors who travel the route between Europe and the Far East all year round, they all know that the entire East is already Chinese territory.  Even British people have to be honest here.

¡°However, this does not mean that the British side will tolerate this tone.  The British Ambassador to China, Jules Aldian, immediately rushed to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the incident and expressed the British serious protest to Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Tingfang.

"Your Excellency, Minister of Foreign Affairs, your country's navy forcibly boarded British merchant ships for inspection. This is a provocation to the British Empire and a trample on the dignity of the British Empire. Businessmen of the British Empire are all well-behaved and good citizens. What you are doing is  It is inappropriate. The British Empire will reserve the right to pursue responsibility. China must apologize to the British Empire for this matter, otherwise, China's actions will be regarded as an act of war against the British Empire. The British Empire will use all means  , safeguard the interests of the British Empire!" Zhu Erdian roared in the office of Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Tingfang.

"Your Excellency Ambassador, our country suspects that your country is selling arms to Siam. This behavior of your country has seriously undermined the peace of the Nanyang region and has posed a serious threat to our country. Therefore, our country has the right to ask your country to stop  Arms deal with Siam!" Faced with the furious British Ambassador to China Juldian, Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Tingfang was not frightened.  Instead, China issued a stern warning.

"Your Excellency, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Britain is a peace-loving country, how can it be possible to sell arms to other countries at will?" Edward argued.

"However, we found arms on the intercepted British merchant ship, not only rifles, but also artillery! Moreover, according to the confessions of the British merchants above, they were transporting arms to Siam on orders from the British side.  ." Wu Tingfang said coldly.

"Okay! Your Excellency, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Siam is a sovereign country. The transaction between the British Empire and the Siamese government is a matter between our two countries and has nothing to do with China!" Zhu Erdian said coldly.

"However, this poses a threat to China's security. This reason is enough!" Wu Tingfang said coldly.

The reason put forward by Wu Tingfang is very strong and overbearing.  The UK has done a lot of this kind of thing in the past.  Especially when Britain and France were competing for maritime supremacy around the world, Britain often searched French merchant ships to prevent France from providing arms to the resistance forces in British colonies.  And now, China has used this trick on the United Kingdom, which indeed makes them very angry.

"Your Excellency, Minister of Foreign Affairs, China's actions are harming the interests of the United Kingdom, which will definitely damage the relationship between our two countries!" Ambassador Zhu Erdian warned.

¡°China is not afraid of any challenges. Any behavior that harms China¡¯s interests will be severely punished by China!¡± Wu Tingfang replied.  China now has enough strength and confidence to say such a thing.  China is no longer allowed to be bullied at will by Western powers. China can make its own strong voice to the world.

The meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wu Tingfang and the British Ambassador to China Juldian naturally ended on bad terms.  This also caused a crisis in the relationship between the two countries.  However, Britain is still in the quagmire of the Boer War, and at the same time its navy's warships are also being built, and it is simply unable to take effective measures against China.  Therefore, they could only protest a few times.

The timely blockade of the Chinese navy prevented the Siamese government from obtaining sufficient weapons.  They purchased half a million rifles and thousands of artillery pieces from the British government.  However, just before the blockade of the Chinese navy, two hundred thousand rifles and two hundred artillery pieces of various calibers were obtained.  The remaining rifles and artillery were seized by the Chinese side.

Siam has paid the money, but has not received the goods. This made King Chulalongkorn and the government of Siam very dissatisfied. They asked the British to return the payment.  However, the British insisted that they had already shipped the goods and had not received the arms. This was a matter for Siam and had nothing to do with Britain.  Britain suffered a big loss in China and was angry. Of course, it would not look good on Siam.  And the money paid by Siam will obviously not be returned to them.  This made Siam very angry. King Chulalongkorn of Siam smashed several vases, but there was nothing he could do.  This may be the tragedy of small countries.

As time goes by, the rainy season on Indochina is slowly ending.  During this period of time, the Chinese army began to gather towards the Siamese border, and the domestic army in Siam also completed its expansion.  The Siamese Army expanded to one million men.  ButOnly two-thirds of the people were equipped with rifles, and there were less than 500 artillery pieces. The remaining people could only use weapons such as knives, guns, and bows and arrows.

The clouds of war began to gather over Siam, and the eyes of the whole world were also focused here.  All the powerful countries are speculating on what will happen to China's invasion of Siam?  Will it become a war quagmire like the ongoing Boer War in Britain?  After all, the population of Siam was twenty times that of the Boers.  It may not be easy for China to swallow Siam in one gulp!

The Chinese have always paid attention to the importance of learning from others!  Therefore, even if troops are to be sent to annex Siam, reasonable excuses must still be prepared.  In mid-July, China's largest newspaper, the Empire Daily, published on its front page the life of Taksin, the founder of the Thonburi dynasty of Siam, and the establishment and demise of the Thonburi dynasty.

Zheng Xin¡¯s father Zheng Da was born in Lopburi, Chenghai, Guangdong, China. During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, he traveled south to Siam and lived in Ayutthaya. He was a stall owner and changed his name to Yong after he became rich; his mother Noyang was from Siam.  Zheng Xin was born in Ayutthaya.  He began his education at a Theravada Buddhist monastery when he was 7 years old. After 7 years of study, he became a royal attendant.  Legend has it that one time, he and his friend Tongluan, a beginner in Buddhism, went out to the temple for alms and met an old Chinese fortune teller. The fortune teller read his palm and told them that the two of them would become kings.  Of course they didn't take it seriously, but later Taksin was indeed called the King of Siam, and Thongluang also killed Taksin and became Rama I.

When Taksin was the deputy governor (later the governor) of Tak Sin Province, he got his Thai name Thaksin, and his official title was Phraya Thaksin.  When he was promoted to governor of Kamphaeng Phet, he had to return to Ayutthaya.  Because at that time Myanmar attacked Thailand and surrounded the Thai capital.  Zheng Xin led and participated in the defense of the capital.  But the city soon fell in 1767, and Zheng Xin led a small army out of the city.

Taking advantage of the outbreak of the Qing-Burmese War and most of the Burmese garrison in Ayutthaya were forced to return home to resist the Qing army, Zheng Xin led his troops to organize the anti-Burmese army based on the southeastern coastal areas, regained Ayutthaya, and moved the capital to Thonburi.  On December 28 of that year, he was elected king and was known as the Thonburi Dynasty in history.  In 1770, he subsequently eliminated the separatist forces in various places, unified the whole of Siam, and carried out military expansion into Cambodia many times.  He also sent envoys to China, who entered the court and were called vassals (Švas guo) to the Qing court.  On April 7, 1782, Zheng Xin was killed in a palace coup.  Thongluang (General Chakri), who led the army back to Beijing from the Cambodian front, took power and established the Bangkok Dynasty.  Tongluan, also known as Rama I, was afraid of the Manchus' investigation. He claimed to be Zheng Hua, the son of Zhengxin, and went to the Manchus to request canonization.  The foolish Manchu government actually believed it and crowned Thongluang the King of Siam.  And Tongluan's age is several years older than Zheng Xindu.

After the life and deeds of King Taksin of Siam were published in the "Empire Daily News", it immediately caused an uproar across the country.  Originally, the Chinese did not know much about the country of Siam and the person Zheng Xin.  However, when the Chinese official newspaper published it, the public was excited.  People from all over the country formed petition groups one after another, asking the imperial government to avenge Taksin and eliminate the current Siamese royal family.

After China won a series of war victories, the national self-esteem and self-confidence of the imperial citizens have risen to a very high level.  In their view, the Empire was already one of the most powerful countries in the world.  Siam, a small country in the south, actually did such a cruel thing, and the victims were Chinese. The empire should stand up for justice.

Originally, those old academics who often opposed the imperial government and criticized the empire for being militaristic also came out.  Hundreds of people were unable to kneel before the Foreign Minister at the Xinhua Palace. They demanded that the empire launch a war against Siam to punish the Siamese royal family for this despicable behavior and seek justice for the common people of the empire.

In less than a month, this incident has spread across the country, and governments at all levels have received tens of thousands of petitions.  The officers and soldiers of the Imperial Army also requested to launch a war against Siam and eliminate the Siamese royal family.  Many radical people were even willing to form mercenaries and join the fight against Siam.

In this regard, the imperial emperor Wang Yuze personally stated that the imperial government will not forgive the current royal family of Siam.  The imperial army has begun to gather and will launch a war of annihilation against the Siamese royal family. They will make the Siamese royal family pay a heavy price for what they have done.

The international community is divided into two factions regarding this war.  One side believed that this was China's deliberate attempt to annex Siam and launched an invasion of Siam.  Another group believes that this is China's revenge on the Siamese royal family and is acceptable.  But the opinions of King Chulalongkorn of Siam were ignored!  (To be continued.
