On March 21, 1966, with the support of Chile, Argentina established a provisional government. The president of the interim government was actually Martin, the Argentine Army Minister who surrendered in the Battle of Mendoza!  After the surrender, Martin realized that Argentina had lost this war and was no match for Chile, which was supported by China.  Therefore, actively cooperate with Chile's occupation in northern Argentina.  With Martin's active cooperation, Chile's military occupation went very smoothly. This also made Chile intend to hand over the position of president to Martin after establishing a puppet regime in Argentina. This can also be regarded as a reward for him!

The capital of Argentina¡¯s interim government is not Buenos Aires, but the southern coastal city of Viedma. However, the southern city of Argentina is still under the control of the previous Argentine government.  Afterwards, Chile will dispatch its military to cooperate with the Martin government to eliminate the government led by President Jose Figueroa Alqueta in southern Argentina.  The northern region of Argentina will be merged into Chile!

After the establishment of the temporary city government in Argentina, peace negotiations with Chile were immediately held.  Chilean Foreign Minister Belque and Army Minister Clair rushed to Buenos Aires to take charge of this negotiation.  The representatives of the Argentine interim government are interim President Martin and interim government Foreign Minister Kent.  However, for the two of them, this is not an honor, but a shame.  The defeated Argentina will lose too many benefits in this negotiation!

"Your Excellency Martin, this is a peace treaty drawn up by our government. If you have no objections, please sign the peace treaty!" Chilean Foreign Minister Belque handed the already prepared treaty to President Martin of the Argentine Interim Government.  .  Although it is said to be a negotiation between Chile and Argentina, Argentina has no room for resistance at all.  Now the northern part of Argentina is under the control of the Chilean army. Except for a very small number of Argentine troops who fled to the south, the rest are still being held in prisoner-of-war camps!

Martin took the treaty and opened it to read.  Kent, the foreign minister of the Argentine interim government, also came over, but when they saw the contents of the treaty, both of their faces were livid!

The main contents of the treaty are: first, Argentina pays 10 million pounds in war compensation to Chile; second, cedes the provinces of Jujuy, Formosa, Salta, Catamarca, Tucum¨¢n,  Del Estero, Chaco, Santa Fe, La Rioja, San Juan, Mendoza, San Luis, C¨®rdoba, Buenos Aires, En  The provinces of Tre Rios, Corrientes, and Misiones were given to Chile; third, Argentina was only allowed to retain an army with a total strength of 50,000 men and it was trained by Chilean officers and was not allowed to develop a navy; third  Fourth, Argentina and Chile form an alliance. In the event of war, Chile will command the Argentine army, and Chile will help the interim government eliminate the rebels entrenched in the south.

Such a treaty is simply a treaty of national annihilation for Argentina.  Argentina will lose more than half of its land, and it is still the most fertile land in the north. Although there is a lot of territory left in the south, most of it is desert and Gobi.  This will completely reduce Argentina to a small country in South America, with no chance of rising again.

For Martin and Kent, if they sign a treaty, they will become Argentina¡¯s sinners!

"Your Excellency Belk, is this treaty too harsh?" Martin suppressed the anger in his heart and asked.  He had no idea that Chileans would be so greedy and have such a big appetite.  You know, the total territory claimed by Chile is at least twice the size of Chile.  And there are many more Argentines living in these lands than the total population of Chile.

¡°Your Excellency Martin, this treaty was finally established after discussions by the Chilean government.

For Argentina, it may be a bit harsh, but it is much better than Chile completely annexing Argentina!  You must know that there are indeed loud calls in Chile for the complete annexation of Argentina.  However, we do not want to destroy Argentina and let this country disappear from the world.  Therefore, we have prepared such a treaty!  ¡± said Chilean Foreign Minister Belque

"However, such a treaty is too harsh. If we sign such a treaty, the angry Argentine people will tear us all into pieces!" said Kent, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina's interim government.

"I promise, this will never happen. Our army has completely controlled the northern region of Argentina. If there is a rebellion, the Chilean army has the ability to suppress all rebellions!" The cold voice of Chilean Army Minister Claire sounded.  For Chile, Argentina's population is indeed too large, which is also a huge threat to Chile.  Some people in Chile have already asked whether some measures can be taken to reduce the number of Argentines.  If these Argentines break out into riots??Gives Chile a perfect excuse.  After all, all countries use very cruel methods to deal with mobs!

Martin and Kent couldn't help but shudder.  They seemed to have seen large numbers of Argentines fall to the guns of the Chileans.  They are not fools, and they know the thoughts of Chileans very clearly, which makes them even more frightened!

"Your Excellency Belk, Your Excellency Claire, these conditions are too harsh. I will not sign such a treaty!" Martin still shook his head.  Although he surrendered to Chile, he still has the most basic conscience and will not completely betray the country!

"In that case, well, we won't force you! Mr. Kent, are you willing to sign this treaty? If you are willing, then you will be the president of the Argentine interim government!" said Chilean Foreign Minister Belque!

"Ah!" Martin and Kent both exclaimed.  However, their expressions were completely different.  Martin had a look of horror on his face. He never expected that the Chilean side would directly ask him to step down because he refused to sign the treaty. You know, he has just come to power!  Kent was a little surprised. If he could become the president of the interim government, it would definitely be much better than being the foreign minister.  As for betraying Argentina's interests, who has so much control?

"Mr. Belk, I have figured it out and I am willing to sign the treaty!" Martin said quickly, and he was afraid that Chile would regret it, so he immediately signed his name on the treaty.  After signing, he gave Kent a hard look.  It was clear that there was a lot of anger at Kent at the idea of ??replacing him.

"Haha! After the treaty is signed, we will mobilize our troops as soon as possible to help the interim government destroy the rebels in the south!" Belk laughed.  After acquiring the territory in northern Argentina, Chile will gain access to a vast source of food and meat, and the problems that have long plagued Chile will be completely solved.  As for what kind of harm this will cause to Argentina, it is beyond their concern!

After the contents of the treaty were announced, it immediately caused a wave of publicity in Argentina.  A large number of Argentines gathered to resist this traitorous treaty.  However, the interim government, with the support of Chile, brutally suppressed the rebellious Argentines, and the Chilean army also joined in.  The resistance launched by the unarmed Argentines was quickly suppressed.

After solving the problem in Argentina, Chilean Foreign Minister Belque, Army Minister Clare, and Navy Minister Calvin went to Rio de Janeiro to negotiate with Brazil.  Compared with Argentina, the conditions given by Chile are much more generous.  However, Brazil is also very dissatisfied with this treaty.  However, under the guns of the Chilean army, the Brazilian government also has no choice!

On March 31, Chile and Brazil signed a peace treaty in Rio de Janeiro. The treaty stipulated that Brazil would compensate Argentina 30 million pounds in war compensation, and at the same time transfer the southern states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Para  That state was ceded to Chile.

Furthermore, Brazil cannot deploy troops within a hundred kilometers of the new border between the two countries.

Although such conditions are much better than those in Argentina, they are also not accepted by the Brazilian government and people.  However, after the army had surrendered and the head of the government also surrendered, Brazil had no choice. After arguing hard, it had to accept the conditions proposed by Chile.  Fortunately, such losses are not unacceptable to Brazil.  Brazil, with its huge land area and population, was able to recover quickly.  If Chile can be defeated in the next war, everything lost can be regained in greater strength.

In fact, the signing of this treaty did make Brazil very hostile to Chile.  The Brazilian government moved all Brazilians from the three ceded states back to the country. Many of the young Brazilian men who had left their homes joined the army, and they vowed to take back their homeland.  In the following time, Brazil desperately developed its armaments, and finally restarted the war against Chile a few years later.  However, at that time, Chile had gradually digested the benefits gained in this war and became stronger.  The war lasted for several years, but in the end Brazil still failed to defeat Chile. Instead, it suffered heavy losses and had to sue for peace again.

The treaties signed by Chile, Argentina and Brazil are collectively known as the South American Peace Treaty.  After the signing of the treaty, the South American War ended, and Chile also relied on this war to become the number one power in South America!
