"Da da da!" A US heavy machine gunner faced the tank that was driving towards him. Instead of running away, he fired desperately at the tank, as if he wanted to kill it with a dense barrage of bullets.  Like a steel monster.  "Go to hell! Go to hell!" the US heavy machine gunner yelled like crazy.  His eyes widened, his face was ferocious, and he seemed to be in a state of madness.

However, his efforts are obviously impossible to succeed.  The dense heavy machine gun bullets hit the tank, making a clanging sound.  But the tanks are still moving forward.  In the end, when the American heavy machine gunner looked horrified, the tank ran over him directly, and the whole person was crushed into a pile of minced meat.

The U.S. military¡¯s defense line was easily broken through by the attack formation composed of tanks and armored vehicles of the Chinese army.  Under such a severe blow, the US military was simply unable to organize a strong defense.  The tanks and armored vehicles of the Chinese army are chasing the fleeing American officers and soldiers.  Once the U.S. troops gathered, the tanks immediately began to bombard them, and the machine guns above began to fire to disperse the gathered U.S. troops.

After the Chinese army¡¯s tanks and armored vehicles wreaked havoc among the US military for half an hour, the US 75th Infantry Division inevitably collapsed.  Seeing that his own casualties were increasing, Brigadier General Wayne had to order a retreat in order to reduce losses.  A large amount of equipment and combat supplies were abandoned on both sides of the road.  Now it's almost impossible to save one's life. Those equipment and combat supplies are not more important than saving one's life!

The US military officers and soldiers fled in the direction of Puebla.  The tanks and armored vehicles of the Chinese army were chasing after them, and they kept using tank guns and machine guns to cause damage to the US troops.

The Chinese army did not pursue them very far before Major Li Yuxian issued the order to retreat.  He knew very well that the American army they had just defeated was just a division of the American army, and at best it was just a vanguard force.  There are still many large US military units behind them. If they catch up now, they alone will not be able to defeat the US military. On the contrary, they may trap themselves.

After the Chinese army stopped pursuing, they contacted most of the Wejochingo and took away all the trucks, artillery and other combat materials left by the US military.  Those that cannot be taken away will be destroyed. They cannot be left to the US military anyway.

Although not many enemies were killed in the battle of the reconnaissance camp, it caused great panic to the U.S. military, which caused the U.S. military to be defeated after being suddenly attacked.  The reconnaissance battalion itself did not suffer much losses. It lost one tank and one armored vehicle in total, and the casualties were less than twenty.  After blowing the damaged tanks and armored vehicles to pieces, the reconnaissance battalion withdrew to Huejochingo under the orders of General Du Qizheng, commander of the 7th Army.

General Du Qizheng was very satisfied with the performance of the reconnaissance battalion and ordered to commend the entire reconnaissance battalion.  By this time, the main force of the 7th Army had arrived at Huehochingo.  At the same time, follow-up troops are also arriving.  And, using this time, a preliminary line of defense has been built.  With the light tanks and mechanized troops of three armored brigades as the core, it is enough to resist the US attack!

After the U.S. 75th Infantry Division was defeated, it joined the large forces from Puebla.  Brigadier General Wayne also met Lieutenant General Richard.

"General, I'm sorry, my troops were defeated by the Chinese. They have occupied Huehochingo before us!" Brigadier General Wayne said dejectedly.  In the melee, his unit collapsed in less than half an hour, which made him feel deeply ashamed.

Lieutenant General Richard also looked livid and felt very angry.  He did not expect that he had ordered a retreat as quickly as possible, but was still blocked by the Chinese.  If it is impossible to withdraw to Mexico City, the powerful Chinese army will be enough to swallow up his more than 200,000 American troops without even leaving a scrap.  This made Lieutenant General Richard feel a deep sense of powerlessness and fear.

"So how many Chinese people did you encounter?" Lieutenant General Richard asked.  He has not given up hope of withdrawing to Mexico City.

"General, I don't know very well. It was very dark at that time, and the Chinese launched a surprise attack. We couldn't figure out how many people they had. However, the Chinese used their new weapons. The ones that made a rumbling sound.  Sound, a machine that is not afraid of guns!" Brigadier General Wayne said with a red face.  He was defeated by the enemy so that he could not figure out how many there were, which made him very ashamed.

Lieutenant General Richard couldn't help but frowned.  Now there were only two paths before him.

Or continue heading north, break through the Chinese blockade and escape to Mexico City.  Or they can only retreat to Puebla and wait for instructions from General Pershing.  However, if we return to Puebla, we will probably be surrounded and eaten by the Chinese army.  Attack the Chinese army occupying Huehochingo. If the number of Chinese is not large, maybe they? There is a chance.  As for the detour, it would be a full hundred kilometers away. Once the Chinese caught up, they would not be able to escape and would be annihilated.

"General, the Chinese army we encountered does not seem to be large in size. Their artillery is very weak, with only a few cannons." Brigadier General Wayne said.  This is also the most important basis for his judgment.

"I understand, go down and gather the troops!" Lieutenant General Richard said.

"Yes, General!" Brigadier General Wayne saluted and left quickly.  In tonight's battle, he had already been humiliated.

"Come here! Send a telegram to General Pershing and tell him that we have encountered a Chinese blockade. Now, we are ready to break through the Chinese blockade with all our strength and ask him to give us support!" Lieutenant General Richard said.  Retreating to Puebla would only lead to death. He still wanted to take a gamble, hoping to break through the interception of the Chinese army and escape back to Mexico City.

"Yes, General!" After the signal soldier recorded the message, he immediately went to send a telegram.

Lieutenant General Richard issued the order to continue to advance towards the enemy. At 10:30 in the evening, the frontline troops had arrived at the battlefield where the US 75th Infantry Division and the Chinese army were fighting.  Both sides of the road were littered with dead bodies, destroyed trucks, artillery pieces, and other combat supplies.  This caused a panic in the hearts of the American officers and soldiers, fearing that they would encounter a surprise attack by the Chinese army like the 75th Infantry Division.  However, what surprised them was that the Chinese army did not attack them, but rather did not exist at all.

The U.S. soldiers continued to advance toward Huehochingo with uneasiness and at the urging of their commanders.  When they arrived one kilometer away from Huehochingo, it was already 11 o'clock in the night.  The small town of Wehochingo was dark and very quiet at this time.  But everyone in the US military believes that there must be a large number of Chinese troops hiding in the town.

Lieutenant General Richard issued the order to attack at 11 o'clock in the night.  Because the truck towing the cannon was still behind, tens of thousands of soldiers from the 74th Infantry Division of the 19th U.S. Army launched an attack on Huehochingo without any preparation for artillery fire.

"Come on! Kill!" Tens of thousands of American troops roared loudly, as if this could embolden them.

"Fire flares! Fire!" When the U.S. military was less than 800 meters away from Wejochengo, the frontline commander of the Chinese army gave the order to fire.  Flares shot up into the sky one after another, illuminating the night as if it were day.  Hundreds of heavy machine guns, hundreds of mortars and infantrymen opened fire at the same time.  A dense barrage of bullets enveloped the officers and soldiers of the US 74th Infantry Division, easily knocking them to the ground.

"Damn it! The Chinese have already set an ambush!" Lieutenant General Richard cursed secretly.  Judging from the burst of firepower, the Chinese army must have gathered a lot of troops in Wehochingo, which made Lieutenant General Richard's heart slowly sink.  If the Chinese army is fully prepared, the possibility of him breaking through the blockade of the Chinese army and escaping back to Mexico City is very low.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!" At this time, the artillery of the Chinese army also opened fire, and hundreds of large-caliber heavy artillery began to fire at the US military.  In the darkness, the lights of U.S. military trucks and the torches lit by the soldiers revealed their positions.

"Damn it! Large-caliber heavy artillery! Disperse, retreat!" Lieutenant General Richard cursed and immediately gave the order to retreat, then turned the horse's head first and fled to the back.

The dense artillery shells exploded in the ranks of the US military, erupting into clusters of orange-red fireballs and scattered shrapnel, tearing the surrounding US officers and soldiers and fragile bodies into pieces.  However, in the dark night, the accuracy of the shelling was not very good, and the casualties caused to the US military were very limited.

The U.S. 74th Infantry Division that was attacking Huehochingo also suffered heavy losses under the intensive firepower of the Chinese army. After Lieutenant General Richard ordered a retreat, they immediately turned around and fled.

General Du Qizheng obviously had no intention of letting these US troops escape easily.  Hundreds of tanks and armored vehicles drove out from Huehochingo and launched a pursuit of the US military.  An infantry division followed the armored forces to provide protection for the armored forces and at the same time annihilate the American officers and soldiers who were overtaken by the armored forces.

In the darkness, the U.S. military fled southward desperately, while the Chinese army was in hot pursuit. A large number of U.S. troops were overtaken by Chinese tanks and armored vehicles.  At this time, in order to save their lives, many American troops surrendered to the armored units of the Chinese army.  However, the armored forces did not have extra time to pay attention to them. After often leaving an armored vehicle to guard the surrendered US troops, the remaining tanks and armored vehicles continued to pursue southward.  These prisoners will be handled by the infantry arriving from behind!
