In Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, inside the palace, the Afghan King, Habibullah Khan, also known as the Emir, was furious.  His study room was already in a mess, and the traditional Afghan handicrafts and porcelain obtained from the East had long been smashed into pieces.

Habibullah Khan is the ninth emir of the Barakzai dynasty. He is only forty years old this year.  Among the emirs of the Barakzai dynasty, he can be regarded as a relatively relieved emir.  However, now the entire country seems to be led into the abyss by him.

Son of Habibullah Abdul Rahman Khan.  Born in Samarkand in 1872.  After inheriting the throne on October 3, 1901, he began to resolve the relationship with the British colonists.  On March 21, 1905, the two sides signed the "Black Mole Treaty", agreeing that Britain would control Afghanistan's diplomacy in exchange for Britain paying an annual subsidy of 160,000 pounds.  Internal affairs are handled by the king with full authority.  Habibullah Khan implemented social reforms under strong internal and external pressure.  Established a State Council to handle tribal affairs, advocated the study of Western technology, and introduced electrical, automobile, Western medicine and surgical techniques, founded many schools, established a military academy managed with European methods and adapted to the needs of Afghanistan, and published a weekly news newspaper.  However, Habibullah Khan's biggest mistake since he came to power is probably to go against China in terms of his attitude towards the Hazara people.  Although this ensured the Pashtuns' dominance over Afghanistan, it also laid the foundation for Afghanistan's demise.  And now.  China launches war plan against India.  The first one to bear the brunt is Afghanistan, India's northwest barrier!

"By God! Those damn infidels are indeed unreliable. Five hundred thousand people were actually wiped out by the Chinese in a few days! Now the Chinese are bypassing the Hindu Kush Mountains and marching towards Kabul.  And those untouchables have also started to rebel through the attacks of the Chinese. What should we do now?" After finally suppressing the anger in his heart, Habibullah Khan asked with a dark face.  In front of him stood two middle-aged men. One was Kalakani, the minister responsible for handling state affairs.  The other is General Amanora, the commander of the Afghan Army.

Originally, the Chinese Army began to gather troops in Central Asia north of Afghanistan, which had already caused Afghanistan to worry.  However, the arrival of the 23rd British-Indian Army, and half a million British-Indian troops stationed in northern Afghanistan, reassured Habibullah Khan a lot.  However, just a few days into the war, the 23rd Army of the British and Indian Army was almost completely wiped out. This news was like a bolt from the blue, which hit Habibullah Khan hard.  He never expected it.  The 23rd British-Indian Army would fail so quickly that he would have no time to react.

"Your Majesty, I have ordered our troops to gather in Kabul. We will defend Kabul and fight those damn Chinese to the end!" General Amanora, commander of the Afghan Army, replied loudly.

"General Amanora, are you sure you can defeat the Chinese?" Habibullah Khan looked at General Amanora and asked.

General Amanora fell silent immediately. Since the last time most of the Afghan Army was wiped out by the Chinese, it was difficult for the Afghan Army to regain its strength of 100,000 people.  Although they obtained many new weapons from the British, compared with the Chinese who were armed to the teeth, they were nothing more than beggars.  Besides, even the hundreds of thousands of British and Indian troops were wiped out by the Chinese in a few days. How long can Afghanistan's 100,000 army hold on?

Seeing Admiral Amanora silent, Habibullah felt even more uncomfortable.  Afghanistan was originally a powerful country in this region.  But now it has become like this.  If he was given another chance to make a new choice, maybe he wouldn't refuse China's good intentions.  If he had turned to China, perhaps none of this would have happened!

"Kalkani, how will the British reply to us? When will their reinforcements arrive in Kabul?" Habibullah Khan asked.  He knew very well that after the Chinese began to fully support ethnic minorities such as the Hazaras and Tajiks, he had no chance to switch to another country. If he wanted to ensure his power, he could only follow the British path.  It's dark.  Now, his only hope is that the Indian Governor-General can send reinforcements to Kabul in time to join the Afghan Army in resisting the Chinese invasion.

Kalakani looked embarrassed. After hesitating for a moment, he still said: "Your Majesty, the Governor-General of India rejected our request. They said that in view of the complex affairs in Afghanistan, the British and Indian troops will no longer send troops to fight in Afghanistan. And,  They hope that our army can continue to fight the Chinese and let us hide in the mountains and attack?Chinese logistical supply lines.  Wait until they defeat the Chinese on the battlefield in India, and then help us drive the Chinese out of Afghanistan.  The Governor-General of India also said that if His Majesty is willing, he can go to Delhi to stay temporarily until the end of the war!  "

"O Allah! Those damn infidels, they are burning bridges across the river! At this time, they still want to die and don't save us, and they still want us to sacrifice our lives for them. Those British are really unreliable. Tell them, where am I?  Don¡¯t go either! I¡¯ll stay in Kabul!¡± Habibullah roared loudly, feeling as if he had been betrayed by the British.

"Your Majesty, the British are really bullying people too much. The British and Indian troops have more than 10 million troops, but they are unwilling to rescue us. They obviously want us to fight the Chinese desperately, so they can reap the benefits!" Amanola  the admiral said.

Habibullah Khan is now full of resentment towards the British, but he has no choice.  Now Kabul is about to be attacked by the Chinese army, and those ethnic minorities who have received support from China will definitely attack him and all Pashtuns.  How the Pashtuns treated them in the past, they will definitely take it back even harder.  Thinking of this, Habibullah Khan felt a little numb!

"Your Majesty, how about we negotiate peace with the Chinese! They shouldn't kill them all!" Kalakani suggested.

"No, I will not compromise with the Chinese even if I die in battle! It is absolutely impossible for those damn untouchables to climb on top of us Pashtuns and dominate us!" Habibullah  Khan flatly refused.

On October 27, after a long-distance attack, the Chinese Army¡¯s 201st, 203rd and 204th Divisions and Japanese mercenaries from four divisions first arrived in Kabul.  After a night of rest and recuperation, the Chinese Army launched an attack on Kabul before the follow-up troops arrived.

By this time, all 100,000 Afghan Army troops had gathered in Kabul.  Led by Habibullah Khan, these Afghan Army and Chinese Army launched a fierce battle.  Even though the Afghan Army has obtained a large amount of equipment from the United Kingdom, compared with the Chinese Army, it is not at the same level at all.  The Afghan Army has more than a hundred heavy artillery, which is equal to the number of heavy artillery in the three infantry divisions of the Chinese Army, but the quality is much worse. When the two sides launched an artillery battle, they were completely suppressed.  Subsequently, Chinese Air Force fighter planes arrived and bombed the artillery positions of the Afghan Army. They killed most of the Afghan Army's artillery in one fell swoop and damaged many of the artillery pieces.  In the ensuing battle, the Afghan Army's artillery was no longer able to exert any influence.

After half a day of fierce fighting, the Chinese Army and Japanese mercenaries invaded Kabul.  As the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul is also a famous big city in West Asia. Although it cannot be compared with Chinese cities, it is still very good.  After being captured by the Chinese Army, the Afghan Army was still resisting tenaciously.  However, their resistance could not change the outcome of their failure.

On October 29, the following divisions of the Chinese Army also arrived in Kabul and joined the offensive.  The Afghan Army, which was at an absolute disadvantage in terms of military strength, suffered heavy losses after a hard battle.  Moreover, their courage was also consumed in the fierce battle.  A large number of Afghan troops surrendered to the Chinese troops.  The Emir of Afghanistan, Habibullah Khan, fired a gun when the Chinese army attacked the palace.  His son succeeded him as Inayatullah Khan.  However, the Barakzai dynasty of Afghanistan at that time had been destroyed, and he could only form a government-in-exile in India with the help of Kalakani and others.  After India was occupied by China, he fled to England.

After Kabul was captured by the Chinese army, Afghan resistance did not stop. To be precise, the resistance of the Pashtuns did not stop.  However, this has nothing to do with China anymore.  With the support of China, the Hazaras, Tajiks, Uzbeks and Turkmen formed a coalition government, with elected tribal elders serving as government officials at all levels, and the prime minister being a Hazara.  However, no king, or rather a nominal king, became the emperor of the Chinese Empire.  It¡¯s just that China has not interfered in Afghanistan¡¯s internal affairs.  But even so, the newly established Afghanistan very consciously regards itself as China's younger brother and follows China's intentions in everything.

The first thing the new Afghan government did when it was established was to organize the armed forces of various tribes into a new government army. China assisted the new Afghan government with a batch of weapons.  After the new government forces were formed, they began to suppress the Pashtuns, doubling all the oppression they had suffered from the Pashtuns before.  At the same time, the Afghan government forces also assumed the important task of protecting the Chinese Army's logistical supply lines. With local snakes like them here, those Pashtuns could not pose a threat to the Chinese Army's logistical supply lines!  (To be continued)
