When Jin Yong and Liang Yusheng made an agreement to write martial arts novels, they had thought about the issue of pen names.  Later, he decided to split the character Yong in his name into two (also mentioned in Jin Yong's "Jin Yong Prose" published in 2007) and became Jin Yong.  This became his pen name.

Jin Yong¡¯s works are mainly novels, as well as political commentaries, essays, etc.  From the beginning of "The Book of Swords and Enmities" in 1955 to the official conclusion of "The Deer and the Cauldron" in 1972, he created a total of fifteen novels, novels and short stories.

Long novels will become a craze almost every decade.  The earliest Jin Yong craze started in Hong Kong and Macao.  Then it spread to Taiwan, and then had an impact on mainland China. It can be said that the Jin Yong craze spread to the entire Chinese-speaking circle.

In recent years, Jin Yong¡¯s works have also been translated into Japanese and other languages, and the craze has spread across East Asia.

Jin Yong¡¯s novels are often related to each other, except for The Condor Trilogy, The Legend of the Dragon and The Swordsman.  The Blue Blood Sword and The Deer and the Cauldron, the Book of Swords and Enmity and the Flying Fox Gaiden are all related.

Jin Yong once combined the first letters of the names of 14 of the 15 novels he created into a couplet: The flying snow shoots the white deer in the sky, and the laughing book hero relies on the blue mandarin duck.  The 1970 "Yue Nu Sword" was not included in the couplet.

The work was first serialized in Hong Kong Ming Pao and was very popular among readers. After the author assembled and revised it and published it as a single volume, it has been widely circulated in the Chinese literary circle, especially the long-form works that are more popular.

A large number of his works have been adapted into TV series and movies by film and television groups in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, mainland China and other places.

Chen Shixiang once said: Jin Yong¡¯s martial arts novels can be compared with the sudden rise of Yuan opera.  It not only represents genius, but also relates to the fate of the world.  The difference is that only one person can be seen in this life.

An overview of several mature martial arts works by Jin Yong.  In addition to integrating martial arts, qigong, suspense, and romance.  In addition to common styles such as history, many ancient literature and art, astronomy and geography and other intellectual elements are also added.

His novels created a new image of martial arts, breaking the need for the protagonist to be handsome and unrestrained.  The traditional model of being smart and upright also shows his negative attitude towards racial vendetta.  therefore.  Jin Yong is called a great hero by some commentators.

Jin Yong once wrote essays with Liang Yusheng and the master of Baijian Hall in the column of "Ta Kung Pao".  He also wrote editorials for "Ming Pao" for more than 20 years. He wrote editorials with his left hand and wrote novels with his right hand.  Famous political commentaries include the trouser core theory mentioned above, the writing war with Ta Kung Pao, and many current political commentaries during the Cultural Revolution.

Due to the popularity of Jin Yong's novels, many literary workers have written reflections and book reviews. Ni Kuang was the first person to truly study Jin Yong's novels.

Ni Kuang proposed the term Jinxue.  However, Jin Yong himself was a little resistant to this name, thinking that it was suspected of being a scholar who specialized in studying "Dream of Red Mansions".  Most of them are now collectively referred to as the study of Jin Yong¡¯s novels.

When Taiwan Yuanjing Publishing House obtained the copyright of Jin Yong's novels, and with the lifting of martial law in Taiwan, Jin Yong's novels, which have always been regarded as **, were published.  In 1980, Yuanjing Publishing House published a series of gold research books edited by Shen Dengen.

Boyi and Mingchuang also published a series of books about celebrities talking about Jin Yong. At that time, the editor of "Ming Pao" and former member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, Ng Moi-yee, also wrote "The Man in Jin Yong's Novels", "Looking at Life in Jin Yong's Novels", "  "Women in Jin Yong's Novels" and "Love in Jin Yong's Novels", Yang Xing'an's "The World in Jin Yong's Novels".

When Jin Yong¡¯s novels were officially authorized for publication in mainland China, research on Jin Yong¡¯s novels became even more lively, covering everything from novel content, characters, historical background to martial arts moves and dietary recipes.

Comparing the differences between different versions is the focus of research.  Chen Mo and Pan Guosen still often comment on Jin Yong's novels.

The Fourth Huashan Sword Discussion: The "Opening Forum" column of Shaanxi TV Station invited Jin Yong to Mount Huashan in 2003 to participate in the Huashan Sword Discussion. The main venue was located at the north peak of Huashan, with an altitude of 1,561 meters. In addition to Jin Yong, the host and guests  , and a dozen netizens.

Jin Yong, Peking University professor Yan Jiayan, Bashu ghost genius Wei Minglun, martial arts director Zhang Jizhong, screenwriter Yang Zhengguang, and Peking University drunkard Kong Qingdong sat here to discuss swords.
