The east city gate of Imphal slowly opened. Under the bright morning light, a group of British soldiers, under the leadership of several officers, headed towards the first brigade of the Corps directly under the ** division, holding a striking white flag.  Liu Hongzhang's troops came to the position.

Liu Hongzhang saw this scene through the telescope and hurriedly ordered: "The British have surrendered. Order the artillery to temporarily stop the bombardment. Let's see what these bastards say and report the situation to Deputy Commander Tang immediately. The British are holding a white flag."  , come to negotiate surrender!¡±

After saying that, he stamped his feet in annoyance and said to himself, "Why did you surrender? You haven't fought yet. They are a bunch of fucking weaklings. It's a pity that I stayed up most of the night to come up with the battle plan. It's so boring."  Son!"

The staff officers in the brigade headquarters couldn't help but smile secretly. They heard the brigade commander's wishes and felt very aggrieved if they didn't fight this battle. They also felt very aggrieved by the joint attack of infantry, artillery and tanks carefully organized by Liu Hongzhang.  , but after really putting in a lot of effort, he just let it go, and he felt very unhappy.

Tang Qiusheng received the report from the 1st Brigade of the Directly Affiliated Corps. He was stunned at first, and then smiled comfortably. It was expected, but it came a little faster. He originally thought that he would have to fight for a while, waiting for the British and Indian troops to have enough.  He would choose to surrender only when he was in trouble and had no choice but to take action. The big battle he had prepared had not yet taken place. "It seems that this Chelsea is a person who understands current affairs," he thought to himself.

Tang Qiusheng said to Yu Guanghan, Chief of Staff of the Corps: "Guanghan, ask Liu Hongzhang to send the British and Indian negotiators to the headquarters. You should also prepare and we will meet these British."

Yu Guanghan said with some reluctance: "Deputy division commander, what is there to talk about with them? In one sentence, put down your weapons, raise your hands and surrender, simple and direct, I think. You don't need to ship these defeated generals, I will send them away."  Theirs!"

Tang Qiusheng shook his head and said: "Guanghan, you can conquer the enemy without fighting. The best thing is, capturing Imphal without going through a fierce battle is the most ideal effect for us, as it can avoid casualties in the troops.  It can save time and ammunition. It can save the city of Imphal from being devastated by war. Just because Chelsea can do this, it is worth seeing me in person. Go ahead and arrange it!"

On the morning of May 24th, the gushing sun suddenly rose in the sky over East India.  The brilliant rays of the sun shine through this land, making it full of vitality.  A team of three officers and a dozen soldiers from the British-Indian Army garrison at Imphal, a surrender negotiation team, walked dejectedly in the sunshine. This vibrant morning had nothing to do with them.

Escorted by a platoon of troops from the guard battalion of the 1st Brigade Headquarters of the Directly Affiliated Corps, the officers and soldiers of the British and Indian Army walked along. What they saw were large-caliber rifles in a tight formation on the position of the Chinese Army.  Heavy artillery, tanks ready to go.  Teams of soldiers with high morale and fighting spirit have more complicated hearts.

Perhaps, among them, there were some who were not convinced by their superiors¡¯ order to surrender to the Chinese.  I always thought I could fight, but now I see how naive my idea was and how dangerous my approach was. Without the Chinese soldiers coming to kill them, just these heavy artillery and tanks could tear apart the more than 50,000 soldiers of the British Empire in Imphal.  Crush.

Thinking of this, the resentment hidden on the faces of the British and Indian Army officers and soldiers disappeared like snowflakes in the sun. In front of a military green tent shaded by green trees, Major General Yu Guanghan, Chief of Staff of the Sulu Mobile Corps,  , neatly dressed in military uniform, standing with hands behind his back with a stern look on his face, looking at the officers and soldiers of the British and Indian Army coming towards him, with a contemptuous smile on his lips.

The surrender representative of the Eastward March Corps of the Indian Army approached. Yu Guanghan cast his eyes on the British colonel, the highest-ranking British colonel, and said succinctly, "Our Deputy Commander Tang is waiting for you, please come in!"

After entering the tent, the English translator immediately introduced the deputy division commander Tang Qiusheng and others who were sitting in the middle. The British colonel stepped forward, first saluted Tang Qiusheng and said: "Dear General Tang,  I am Colonel Davis, Chief of Staff of the British Army's Eastward Advance Corps in India. I am now ordered to discuss surrender with your army!"

Tang Qiusheng sat calmly, smiled slightly, and said: "You have made the wisest choice. I wonder what your General Chelsea is like? Does he have any requirements? You might as well speak up!"

Davis's eyes flashed with pain, and he said: "General Tang, our commander in Chelsea, unfortunately died in the line of duty last night. The commander of the eastward advancing army now is our chief of staff, Major General Weinersen, and I am serving him."  Order, come to discuss matters related to surrender!¡±

Tang Qiusheng's eyes jumped, "I really didn't expect that Chelsea, who was so arrogant, is already dead. The troops haven't started attacking yet. There is no possibility of being killed. He should have committed suicide. He was in a desperate situation and was unable to recover.  Under the circumstances, the last choice, Chelsea is somewhat military. His courage can be considered a good thing, otherwise, the British and Indian troops in Imphal would not have chosen to surrender so quickly!  "

Tang Qiusheng continued: "The conditions for surrender are very simple. All troops from Imphal's eastward marching legion should put down their weapons, drive out of the city immediately, and gather at our designated location. Because of your correct choice, the city and citizens of Imphal will  Your lives and personal property will be completely protected from the flames of war, and all surrendered soldiers and officers will receive the treatment they deserve as prisoners of war, do you hear me clearly?¡±

Tang Qiusheng saw that as soon as he finished speaking, the face of the colonel named Davis relaxed obviously, and he felt as if he had escaped from death. Tang Qiusheng had dealt with the surrendered British and knew that these people of the British Empire  Soldiers, deep down, have a kind of pride that they cannot let go of. For example, Alexander made additional demands.

Tang Qiusheng has made full psychological preparations and is waiting for Colonel Davis to make some demands that are very reasonable to the British but are actually absurd and ridiculous.

Unexpectedly, Colonel Davis did not make any unnecessary demands, but said gratefully: "General Tang, you are a real soldier. As prisoners of war, we know what to do. We fully accept your army's conditions.  And drive out of Imphal as quickly as possible.¡±

The surrender negotiator of the Eastward Army garrison in India left. Tang Qiusheng sat relaxedly on a marching chair and said to Guanghan: "Guanghan, immediately report the news of the surrender of the British Indian Army in Imphal to the division commander, and added in the telegram  In a word, Chelsea, the commander of the Eastward Army in India, has committed suicide! "

Yu Guanghan looked at him puzzled, Tang Qiusheng smiled and said, "Yes, he committed suicide, Guanghan, figure it out for yourself!" Yu Guanghan left without understanding, and Tang Qiusheng  Qiu Sheng leaned on the chair and dozed off!

After receiving Tang Qiusheng's telegram, Tang Qiuli laughed happily and said to Chief of Staff Zhao Yuhe: "Yuhe, Brother Qiusheng is really a blessed general. When he got there, the British and Indian troops there chose to surrender. No.  The soldiers who conquered the enemy in battle, well, first Alexander, then Chelsea, no, Chelsea has committed suicide, Yuhe, in Sido and Imphal, more than 100,000 British Indian soldiers were lost in the hands of Qiusheng brother  Right?"

Zhao Yuhe smiled and replied: "Commander, I'm afraid it's more than that. Anyway, it's just that we destroyed more troops than you commanded. Should we take action next?"

Tang Qiuli laughed and said: "Han Tie just sent a telegram. An hour ago, seven brigades of marines landed on Sri Lanka. They had formed a siege situation around Colombo and eliminated the British and Indian troops there.  Army, it¡¯s just a matter of time. Now, we are the only ones left. This will be the final battle and the final blow to the British!¡±

"Yuhe, order the troops on the front line in Muzaffarpur, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Howrah, and Kolkata to immediately march to Lucknow, Allahabad, Japurpur, and Perm  Launch a fierce attack on the Lagar and Gongpur lines. The order adds that the advancing speed of the troops will not be limited, but it will not be at the expense of troop casualties! "

Starting at around 6 a.m. on May 24, a total of 18 brigades of troops directly under the ** Division and the Sulu Mobile Corps located in the Central India area started from Muzaffarpur in the north and reached India in the south.  From the eastern port city of Kolkata, on a front line of more than 800 kilometers, they launched fierce attacks on various targets in the interior of India.

For a time, the area from Central India to the interior of India was filled with the roar of artillery, the sound of gunfire, and the smoke of war. The brigades of the ** Division, with the cooperation of bombers in the sky and tanks on the ground, advanced at an incredibly fast speed.  Surprisingly, all the second-line troops of the Indian Army's Eastward March retreating at the above-mentioned targets were unable to even parry. As soon as they made contact, the ** division's artillery shells had not fallen on their heads in a large area, and they were invincible.  Crash thousands of miles.

By around 5 pm on the 24th, all attacking forces had completed their planned combat objectives and occupied Lucknow, Allahabad, Japurpur, Pomragul, Gonpur and other places.

Among them, the Xiao Jinshan Division of the 9th Brigade and the Fang Yuanshan Division of the 10th Brigade, which were responsible for attacking Lucknow and Kanpur, continued to attack without stopping, and successively occupied Aligarh and Agra.  Although it is not the main target of attack, it is less than 150 kilometers away from New Delhi, the political, economic, military, and cultural center of Britain in India.

The Chinese troops were approaching the city, and New Delhi was in shock. The Governor-General of India was at a loss. All the armed forces he could put together in his hands were only about 10,000 people. Alexander and Chelsea, with hundreds of thousands of troops, were of no avail. His own small force  , it¡¯s not even enough to plug the gap between Chinese people¡¯s teeth.

Emergency telegrams, like snow flakes, flew toIn the mainland of the country, all the suggestions have only one content, requesting the cabinet to immediately approve negotiations with the Chinese, otherwise, the British Empire will really lose the South Asian subcontinent!
