Lieutenant Colonel Kiryakov, Chief of Staff of the 68th Border Guard Regiment of the Belarusian Military District of the Soviet Union, conducted routine inspections of border posts as usual. Everything was normal. Both sides of the Soviet-Polish border were as calm as ever.

Standing in front of the observation hole of the post closest to the border, Chief of Staff Kiryakov's telescopic lens penetrated the dark mist before dawn. On the Polish side, the German barracks were still in silence.  There was nothing unusual. He had been almost numb to this situation for several years. After observing for a few minutes, he absentmindedly put down the telescope and signed his name in the officer's patrol post record book.

This means that today's inspection work has ended, and next is the beginning of the headache and tedious work. Just as Chief of Staff Kiryakov was about to leave, the sentry beside him shouted: "Comrade Chief of Staff, you  Look, the Germans on the other side seem to be acting strangely?"

"Huh?" Chief of Staff Kiryakov glanced at the sentry suspiciously, then picked up the telescope again. In the dim light of dawn, the German camp opposite began to become active, and large-caliber artillery pieces,  Taking off his camouflage, revealing the thick muzzle, pointing blackly at him, Chief of Staff Kiryakov, who has been stationed at the border for several years, has never discovered the inconspicuous German camp so close to him.  There are also so many large-caliber artillery hidden.

As the German artillery appeared, and then groups of fully armed German soldiers appeared in the telescope lens, Chief of Staff Kiryakov's hair exploded, and he suddenly shivered. A wave of excitement almost suffocated him.  Heart palpitations suddenly struck his mind, "The Germans are going to start a war!" This was his instinctive judgment.

Chief of Staff Kiryakov, trembling hands.  He grabbed the phone on the table and shouted at the top of his lungs: "Switchboard, I am Lieutenant Colonel Kiryakov, Chief of Staff of the 68th Border Guard Regiment. I will call the military area operations room immediately. I have an important military intelligence report!"

"Hiss¡ª¡ª!" The shrill scream came from far and near, piercing the dawn sky. It sounded like the hair on the body stood up. It was the sound of flying artillery shells, in an instant.  Chief of Staff Kiryakov felt that death was approaching!

"Boom!" There was a loud noise, a burst of fire, and a large-caliber artillery shell accurately landed on the outpost.  A huge roar echoed in the pre-dawn air.  The outpost was instantly reduced to a pile of rubble and rubble.  The dozen or so Soviet soldiers inside were all reduced to pieces of flesh by the explosion. When the smoke dissipated, only a pale severed hand was still holding the telephone receiver that had been blown into two pieces.  Hanging next to the huge crater.

The fall of the first artillery shell kicked off the German attack on the Soviet Union. Countless German artillery shells poured down on the Soviet positions and outposts on the border.  After the bombardment began, the German tanks hidden in the underground fortifications rushed out of the ground one after another, covering more than six million German soldiers, and poured into the Soviet Union like a tide. In the sky, under the thin light of dawn, tens of thousands of German tanks  Fighters and bombers formed formations and flew over the Soviet Union.

This is just one scene that happened on the thousands-kilometer-long border of the Soviet Union. The same thing happened in the Leningrad Military District, the Baltic Coast Special Military District, the Western Special Military District, and the Kiev Special Military District on the western border of the Soviet Union.  This was repeated in the defense zones of various military districts such as the Military District and Odessa Military District. More than six million German troops crossed the Soviet-Polish border like a tide and launched a full-line attack on the Soviet Union.

At dawn on April 10, 1942, the Soviet-German war officially broke out. The most cruel and bloody war in World War II was kicked off by Hitler!

In order to quickly destroy the Soviet Union's resistance as quickly as possible, Hitler spent a lot of money. He deployed a huge force of more than 6 million people on the Soviet-Polish border, which was nearly two-thirds of the total strength of the German army at that time.  Above, the Army has 190 divisions (including 19 armored divisions and 14 motorized divisions), more than 4,500 tanks, and nearly 480 million artillery and mortars.  There are more than 5,000 aircraft; the navy has 192 combat ships of various types.

According to the revised "Plan Barbarossa," the German assault group was mainly divided into four lines. Among them, the Northern Army Group had 29 divisions, spread out from Memel to Goudap, and headed towards Leningrad.  In order to carry out the offensive, the 1st Luftwaffe and the 1st and 3rd Fighter Divisions of the Romanian Air Force provided air support and fire cover for the attacking forces. The commander of the Army Group was Army General Albert Kesselin.

The Central Army Group has fifty divisions and two brigades, which are deployed in the swamps from Goudap to Pripyat, and attack in the direction of Leningrad. It is the route with the strongest attack capability among the German attack groups.  The 2nd Luftwaffe Luftwaffe and the 2nd and 4th Fighter Divisions of the Romanian Air Force provided air support and fire cover to the attacking forces.?The commander of the Army Group is Field Marshal Hermann Hoth.

Army Group South has 57 divisions and 13 brigades (including 13 Romanian divisions, nine Romanian brigades and four Hungarian brigades). It is deployed from the Pripyat swamps to the Black Sea area and is implemented in the direction of Kiev.  During the attack, the 3rd Luftwaffe and the 5th and 6th Fighter Divisions of the Romanian Air Force provided air support and fire cover for the attacking forces. The Lutheran Army was the most powerful force among the German attack groups and was the commander of the Army Group.  The official title is Army General G¨¹nter von Kluge.

The last attack group, consisting of the German Army Group in Norway and the Finnish Army Group, totaling 21 divisions and three brigades, carried out assaults in the direction of Murmansk and Leningrad respectively. Together with Army Group Center, they attacked Leningrad.  Forming a two-sided attack, the 4th Luftwaffe of the German Air Force and the 1st, 3rd and 4th Fighter Divisions of the Finnish Air Force assigned ground troops to attack, provide air cover and fire support, and destroy the Soviet ground airports.

In addition, there is an extremely concealed Lutheran Army, with the strength of two German army groups and eighteen divisions. It is commanded by Army General William Lister. It bypasses the frontal attack battlefield of the German army and marches desperately.  , pounced on the Soviet oil production base and the Transcaucasus oil fields. This was a clever move made by Hitler after listening to Tang Qiuli's opinions when revising the "Barbarossa Plan". It was added later.

According to what Tang Qiuli said to Hitler in Berlin at the time, seizing the Soviet Union's main oil producing areas would provide enough oil for the German army, which mainly engaged in mechanized operations. At the same time, it would also cut off the Soviet army's oil supply base.  Hitler was of course happy about killing two birds with one stone and obeyed his words.

In fact, Tang Qiuli's super move was absolutely ruthless. For the Soviet Union, it was a means of removing fuel from the bottom of the cauldron. The output of oil in the Soviet Transcaucasus oil fields accounted for more than one-third of the Soviet Union's national output at that time. For the Germans,  , is a kind of stuffing with fat and meat, and occupying the Transcaucasus oil fields is tantamount to cutting off the main artery of the Soviet army and achieving the purpose of supporting war with war.

Therefore, the German attack was actually divided into five directions. It was not divided into four directions of attack as recorded in history. The last attack group would have an immeasurable impact on the future Soviet-German battlefield.  It was only one year after the war broke out that Hitler truly tasted the benefits of the war. He was extremely convinced of Tang Qiuli's strategic vision and ability to grasp key battlefield nodes.

The war suddenly broke out at the dawn of an ordinary day. The German attack was sudden and fierce, and the strategic concealment was an unprecedented success. This dawn, which was enough to affect the world structure, was destined to go down in history for its cruelty and bloodshed.

Along the thousands-kilometer-long border of the western Soviet Union, fireworks were everywhere and the sound of artillery was loud. The German army suddenly took action and punched the Soviet border guards, which stunned the Soviet border guards. Many troops were even killed in their sleep.  The heavy bombs dropped by the Luftwaffe bombers blew them to pieces, and the German special forces, which had sneaked into the Soviet Union in advance, attacked Soviet transportation hubs, occupied bridges and railway lines, and important targets.

It was chaos. Under the sudden attack of the German army, all the military districts in the western Soviet Union were in chaos. The telephones in the combat duty rooms of the military districts rang like crazy. The situation reported by the various border guards was chaotic, but one thing was consistent.  Yes, the troops were suddenly attacked by the German army. However, every emergency call said that they were the main direction of the German army's attack. According to this statement, the main direction of the German army's attack reached an astonishing number. There were so many German troops there.  **Team?

Faced with the chaos in the border areas, where smoke was everywhere and sirens were blaring frequently, the commanders and political commissars of various military districts in the western Soviet Union immediately held an emergency military meeting to discuss countermeasures. At the meeting, a strange phenomenon occurred. Many Soviet commanders  , especially the political and industrial officers with Cheka background, as well as the officers who were suddenly assigned to high positions after the Soviet Union's Great Purge, never believed that the Germans would attack the Soviet Union.

They swore that the border guards must be lying about the military situation. Maybe there were small-scale border frictions, but a large-scale attack by millions of German troops was absolutely impossible because there was no warning in advance!

Those bored troop commanders along the border are accustomed to making fuss out of molehills in order to attract enough attention from the military district headquarters to show their importance. In other words, they are in a hurry in the face of small frictions along the border.  , which is a sign of political immaturity.

However, these Soviet officers did not think about it. If some small-scale border conflicts broke out in one or several places, they could make a fuss out of it and exaggerate it. The border could be thousands of kilometers long, and all the border defense forces  , are all so exaggerated. If that¡¯s not the coming of war, what is it?
