The young woman in front of Wang Geng had her hair wrapped in a delicate but unassuming headscarf, and her sunglasses covered most of her face. However, the delicate nose, white skin and red lips under the glasses made her look no more than 27 or 27.  Years old, the hands of the young woman holding him tightly are slender and cold.

Looking at her savior who smiled at her but said nothing, the young woman realized that it was a bit rude to wear sunglasses. She quickly retracted her hand and took off her sunglasses, revealing a beautiful but slightly haggard face. Although she could tell that she was wearing sunglasses before she came.  She had modified her makeup well, but it was obvious that the impact of yesterday's unexpected incident on the young woman had not faded so quickly.

"I am Wang Geng, a third-year Chinese cadet at West Point Military Academy. I'm sorry to keep you waiting downstairs for so long. I just don't know your lady's surname yet?" Wang Geng asked the visiting young woman to take a seat and said with a smile.

Nurse Kelly who was outside the door came in with a face on her face. Wang Geng turned around and said, "Nurse Kelly, could you please give this lady a cupcoffee or hot tea?" Wang Geng asked.  Ask the young woman on the chair?

"You can call me Mrs. McAdoo, Coffee, Nurse, thank you!" The young woman put on her sunglasses again at some point, obviously unwilling to show her true face in front of anyone except Wang Geng.

"Coffee! Got it, here you go! Mrs. McAdoo!" Kelly snorted slightly, then turned to Wang Geng with a softened expression, "Gun, do you still want tea?"

"Tea! Tea! Thank you Kelly!" Wang Geng nodded helplessly. Kelly turned around and closed the door and came out. Wang Geng let out a sigh of relief. He didn't understand why there was such a strong smell of gunpowder between these two women!

As soon as Kelly went out, the young Mrs. McAdoo took off her sunglasses again. Before she could speak, she started to choke again.

"Mr. Wang, I don't know how to thank you for your heroic act yesterday. You are the lifesaver of Catherine and our familyI was too careless yesterdayKatherine's hat was blown away by the windI am the only one  I didn¡¯t hold it, and she slipped into the water But you know the people at the river are either old people or children.¡±

Wang Geng saw that Mrs. McAdoo was already crying after a few words. He comforted her softly and took a new towel from the bathroom and handed it to her to wipe her eyes.

"Is your daughter's name Catherine? This name is so beautiful. How is she now? The water was really cold yesterday. Is she okay?"

When Wang Geng saw this young woman coming alone, he felt a little concerned about the little girl he rescued yesterday.

"The name Catherine was given by her grandfather. She is fine, but she was frightened, so I didn't bring her here today. The poor child is only four years old this year and almost died because of my negligence, Mr. Wang,  You didn¡¯t save Catherine alone yesterday, you saved me and our whole family!¡±

¡°As she spoke, Mrs. McAdoo raised her head and grasped Wang Geng¡¯s hand tightly. Her eyes and tears were intertwined on her beautiful face, exuding inner gratitude.

"Your daughter is only four years old? She really looks like a big child, but she is as beautiful as a porcelain doll. I thought she was six or seven years old. We Chinese people say that if you survive a catastrophe, you will have good fortune in the future. Madam, you  You should be happy now. Crying too much can easily lead to dark circles under your eyes." Wang Geng gently patted the young woman's hand to comfort him, while quietly pulling back the hand held by the woman.

    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????¡

"You can call me Eleanor, Mr. Wang Geng! Catherine is my favorite in the world, and the neighbors also like to call her Porcelain Doll. Mr. Wang, are you okay with your health? I was so sorry yesterday,  The child¡¯s father sent someone to pick us up as soon as he got the news.¡±

"My health is fine. I'm just hiding from the news media here. It's completely understandable that Mr. McAdoo loves his daughter. Besides, you can't live in a hospital if you can. There's nothing I can do about it. If I can't live here, I'll have to live here."  "Go back to the military academy Madam, you know that life in the military academy is quite rigid and boring." Wang Geng said honestly.

There was another knock on the door. Before Wang Geng could stand up and open the door, Kelly held a tray in both hands and pushed the door open with her back. Wang Geng hurriedly went up to help. The nurse girl glanced and sat on the chair.  Mrs. MacAdoo glanced at this young woman whose beauty was not inferior to hers, which made Miss Kelly a little depressed.

"Wang Geng, the doctor said that what you need most now is rest. You haven't stopped spinning since you woke up in the morning. If you faint again later, you don't know when you will wake up!"

Kaili threatened Wang Geng in a low voice, while defiantly pushing her chest out towards the young woman over there, and turned around and walked out unwillingly!

"Staying here as a lightbulb girl was afraid that she would lose her grace and couldn't help but quarrel with that woman. Speaking of which, even Kelly herself couldn't figure out why this kind of hostility came out so violently!

Of course Mrs. McAdoo saw all the beautiful nurse¡¯s performance. Obviously the ward was not the best place to communicate with the savior. After Kelly went out, Mrs. McAdoo stood up and said softly,

"Mr. Wang Geng, I am happier than anyone else that you can revive me. Catherine is also clamoring to come and see you, my uncle, in person. We can never repay you enough for saving her life. My husband has been here these days.  I can¡¯t leave the meeting, he originally wanted to thank you in person!¡±

Wang Geng said with a smile, "Madam, you don't have to worry about it. You see, although Catherine unfortunately fell into the water and was frightened, didn't I get the title of an honorary citizen of New York for saving her? The world is so big, New York is so big, I was there at that time  Being there and being able to save Catherine is obviously God¡¯s will, so don¡¯t worry too much!¡±

Mrs. McAdoo nodded slightly, "You are right. You are the angel sent by God to save Catherine and our family. I don't know when you will be discharged from the hospital. My husband and I would like to invite you to our home. You must  To come!"

Wang Geng touched his head and thought, I have so much time to spend with you and your family, and there are so many things waiting for me to do every minute, so I still don¡¯t have a clue how to get on President Wilson¡¯s line.

Seeing that Wang Geng was a little hesitant, Mrs. McAdoo said, "You don't have to worry about things at West Point. My husband is acquainted with the previous principals of yours. The child's grandfather also wants to meet little Catherine's savior. But this part  Both of them are very busy in Washington, so they can¡¯t come to New York to visit you at the moment.¡±

"Your husband works in Washington?" Wang Geng was moved after hearing this.

"Our family has relatives and houses in New York and Washington, but I have been living in Washington with my husband since we got married four years ago. This time I came to New York to visit my sister," McAduff said.

"I would like to ask, does your husband work for the US government in Washington? You know that I have a good friend and his wife who also live in Washington. I spent Christmas at their house last year!" Wang Geng said with a smile.

"Well" Mrs. McAdoo hesitated for a moment and said softly, "My husband works in the cabinet. I hope you can understand his reason for not wanting to make it public. You are a West Point student. You also know whether the United States is going to fight in Europe.  This has been bothering them for a long time!¡±

"A member of your husband's cabinet?! Can I take the liberty of knowing your husband's name?" Wang Geng was overjoyed when he heard this. Someone brought him a pillow as soon as he fell asleep. His mind was running at full speed but he couldn't remember which member of Wilson's cabinet had the last name.  McAdoo had no choice but to ask honestly.

Mrs. McAdoo had a complicated expression on her face and hesitated to speak. The young woman walked to the door and listened. It was quiet in the corridor outside and there was obviously no one.

She turned around and bit her lip and said, "You are Catherine's savior. Our family should not have any secrets from you. My husband is William Gibbs McAdoo, the government's finance minister!"

Damn it!  What McAdoo? It turns out to be McAdoo!  williamgibbsmcadoo!  Served as Treasury Secretary in the Wilson Cabinet from 1913 to 1918, and so on!

"Madam, you said your name is Eleanor, then then you are you are" Wang Geng was so surprised that he was speechless for a moment!

"Yes, my full name before marrying my husband was Eleanor Randolph Wilson! Thomas Woodrow Wilson was my father, and I was his little daughter!" Eleanor nodded.

? U.S. President Thomas Woodrow Wilson!

Wang Geng feels that the distance between the God of Luck and himself has never been so close as it is now!
