In August 1917, for the various political forces in the country, the training speed and scale of the Chinese Model Army was an astonishing miracle. The Prime Minister and the Anhui Clique seemed to be more united and stronger than ever. If  If Feng Guozhang can accept the facts before him, then Beiyang will be stronger than ever under the sincere unity of Zhi and Anhui!

Within the Anhui clique, it is clear that a consensus has been reached. Wang Geng and his participating troops do not think much about the struggle for power and politics. The focus of the War Supervision Office is on the military and military-related economic fields, such as the Sino-US Petroleum Company.  The establishment of the Air Force is the basic guarantee for his combat air force, mechanized logistics support, and the development and operation of China Airlines' civil routes.

For example, the Beijing-Suiyuan Railway Company¡¯s railway projects and highway projects around Beijing and along the line from Zhangjiakou to Baotou, Guisui, were not only what he called a way for the war armies to open up land routes to aid Europe, but they were also his duty as the construction site of the Suiyuan metropolis.

Not to mention that the China Charity Foundation established by this guy has taken a solid step in the development of domestic medical care, people's livelihood and charity under the management of the former Prime Minister. No one knows how much Wang Geng is worth.  But he invested a full 35 million yuan in the China Charity Foundation alone.

To the outside world, the source of this money is a mystery, but it is obviously not embezzled or withheld from loans to Japan and the United States, not to mention that this guy established the China Charity Foundation but handed it over to Xiong Xiling for management.  Donors seeking repayment. For this reason alone, no one can attack Wang Geng¡¯s character and integrity.

Not to mention the conditions he earned for the country during his participation in the war, and the efforts he made to enable the old Beijing banknotes to be recycled and cleared smoothly, and the new Chinese Yuan banknotes to be issued smoothly. Everyone is suffering when using the new banknotes with extremely strong credit.  Participating in the war and supervising the administration is a blessing created for everyone.

Of course, although the reputation of Wang Geng marrying five concubines in one go has some good and bad opinions, his behavior of never stepping into the eight alleys has made more people feel that he is a man who values ??affection.  The missing diamond prince, Lao Wu and Wang Geng is the most eye-catching topic in the entire capital social circle.

There has never been a shortage of people coming to the Prince's Palace on Shihuma Street to propose marriages to the War Supervisor, but the War Supervisor's private life still seems so mysterious and regular. As long as he is not socializing out from Monday to Friday nights, he must be at home with his family.  woman.

On weekends, they must be at the residence of Deputy Minister of Finance Lu Ding and the residence of Prime Minister Duan Qirui. Half of them are business affairs and half of them are private affairs. Duan Hongbin is the private secretary who participated in the war and supervises the war. He accompanied him to the most press conferences and diplomatic receptions.  It is this beautiful, generous, youthful and beautiful personal secretary.

At the same time, the relationship between Lu Mei and Duan Hongbin's best friends became more and more profound. The three of them spent much more time together than two of them did. Lu Mei seemed to be Duan Hongbin's shadow, and Duan Hongbin  Bin, on the other hand, unknowingly became Wang Geng¡¯s shadow on weekends.

Both girls knew that Wang Geng was not married yet, and they also knew that he had no shortage of women to warm his bed. They also knew that there was an endless stream of matchmakers coming to his door every day, and they both knew that the other party liked the young war supervisor.

Lu Mei and Duan Hongbin received a blend of Chinese and Western education. On the one hand, they are attracted by the monogamous system of gender equality in Western European and American countries. On the other hand, they are attracted by the traditional Chinese marriage and lifestyle of a large family with three wives and four concubines.  It is natural for fathers and elder brothers to be senior.

Lu Mei¡¯s father had two concubines, and Duan Hongbin¡¯s own father had five concubines. Even Xu Shuzheng had one wife and three concubines, and Duan Hongbin¡¯s brother Duan Gongzi had 9 wives and concubines!  Zhang Zuolin, the governor of Fengtian in the Northeast, heard that he also had six wives and concubines. In such a social environment, if Wang Geng had no concubines, he would be regarded as a monster of this era!

There are not many bigwigs from various factions who want to marry Wang Geng. Cao Kun, the governor of Zhili, is one. Wang Geng exchanged his Wu Peifu for the American equipment of a mixed brigade. This guy feels that he is similar to Wang Geng and the war army.  It was a family that happily sent someone to act as a matchmaker for their daughter. When they entered the house, they happened to bump into the beauty sent by Zhang Zuolin, the governor of Fengtian.

When I was waiting to go out, I happened to bump into the matchmaker sent by Feng Guozhang again. Although they exchanged greetings with each other and dispersed, the vigilance and suspicion of each other behind the scenes spontaneously arose.

Wang Geng was not at all anxious about his marriage. Although the Prime Minister was surprised, he secretly praised this man for his strong determination, loyalty and honesty. Old Duan did not take it to heart, but Wang Geng was busy every weekend, and  He would take time to come to Duan Mansion to pay his respects, and chat and laugh with Duan Hongbin and Lu Mei for a while. Since Wang Geng asked Erya to be his personal secretary, he had almost made his attitude clear. He only waited for the old man  sense.

Old Duan has nothing to worry about Wang Geng. He is not afraid that he will abduct Erya¡¯s secret daughter.?, secondly, I don¡¯t want to recruit the War Supervisor into my son-in-law so quickly, which will make me, the Prime Minister, not upright enough. Since the War Army is billed as the country¡¯s army, why do I need to engage in a drama like the marriage between the Prime Minister and the War Supervisor¡¯s son-in-law?

So Wang Geng¡¯s life-long event has been delayed. Of course, in fact, it has only been four months since he set foot on Chinese soil.

The establishment of the Fourth Division of the participating armies on August 2, 1917 meant that the training of the participating armies entered a new stage. The Princess Mary aboard the advance detachment had already arrived in the Mediterranean, but Wang Geng, a team of 500 people, was not interested in joining the war expedition.  The requirements of Zhang Zizhong, the commander of the advance detachment of the army, and Zhang Zhizhong, the chief of staff, are to learn to observe, preserve oneself, and never be used as cannon fodder!

The Third Division's work in suppressing the bandits in Suiyuan was very impressive. The Zhang Zhijiang Division of the Sixth Brigade of the Second Division stationed in Machang, Tianjin wiped out the bandits in South Zhili. They laid down their weapons and did not let past the blood debt. The heinous crimes were put on public trial.  Then he was shot directly, but the crime was not as bad as that of his family!

With the three major disciplines and the nine points of attention as the basic guarantee, the military discipline and morale of the participating armies have always been maintained at a high level. In the first week of August 1917, under the unified arrangement of the War Department  Next, the 1st and 4th Divisions of the participating armies stationed in Nanyuan, together with the 1st, 3rd and 16th Divisions of the Beiyang Army, held a grand Beiyang Qiu Cao red and blue army confrontation exercise!

More than 800 people, including representatives from the 22 provinces and governors of the 13 provinces, ministers from the five countries, and Chinese and foreign journalists, were invited to observe the exercise. This was also the first time that participating troops appeared under field conditions. The judging panel of the exercise included ministers from various countries stationed in China.  The official military attache and the Ministry of War sent personnel to participate, and both parties participating in the exercise used blank bullets and blank artillery shells.

The Autumn Exercise exercise area is designated in Bazhou, north of Hejian Prefecture. The location is one step away from the 1905 Beiyang Hejian Autumn Exercise. The Beiyang First, Third and Sixteenth Divisions govern 9 brigades with a total of 70,000 troops.  It is the Blue Army, with its base camp in Baoding. The First and Second Divisions of the participating armies have six brigades with a total strength of 60,000. They are the Red Army, and their base camp is in Langfang.

The Blue Army is actually the main force in the Zhili Gyeonggi Province. Among them, Cao Kun, the commander of the Third Division of the Zhili Governor's Army, is the commander-in-chief of the Blue Army. The commander-in-chief of the Red Army is Wang Geng, the commander-in-chief of the participating armies. The reason why only the first and second divisions are used  , because one division of the participating army is a diamond-shaped division composed of three mixed brigades, and the number of artillery in one brigade exceeds that of one division of the Beiyang Army.

The field exercise is limited to twenty days. Whoever finally captures Bazhou and can maintain the front line and ensure that the base camp is not lost will be the winner.

In this exercise, the Beiyang Blue Army has the advantage from the strength comparison, 70,000 Blue Army vs. 60,000, but from the comparison of firepower, it is not the same magnitude at all. One Blue Army division has 54 75mm mountain field artillery pieces, which is the total size of 9 brigades.  There are less than 200 artillery pieces.

The Red Army has 54 artillery pieces in a mixed brigade, two divisions and six brigades plus their respective divisional heavy artillery regiments, 324 75mm caliber mountain field guns, and 72 150mm field guns.

As for machine guns, they are even more incomparable. The nine brigades of the Blue Army combined have less than 400 Maxim heavy machine guns, while the six brigades of the Red Army have 1,026 M1917a1 Browning water-cooled heavy machine guns alone, not to mention  3,000 Browning squad machine guns!

The Blue Army's logistics support also relies on people carrying horse-drawn baggage. The artillery is all horse-drawn, and the brigade and battalion commanders also ride horses. The Red Army's logistics ammunition is not only the same color Dodge trucks and Ford TT utility vehicles.  , the artillery was all pulled by Dodge trucks, and the brigade and battalion commanders all rode in Ford T-type command vehicles!

And the 108 wheeled armored vehicles converted from Ford TT utility vehicles of the 1st Division's Armored Vehicle Regiment look like little steel monsters when charging in open areas with anti-skid chains.

The Red Army's M1903 Springfield rifle did not have a huge lead over the Blue Army's Mauser 98, but the two extra M1 Garands and a squad machine gun provided by each Red Army squad completely overwhelmed the Blue Army's squad firepower.  , not to mention each platoon has a water-cooled Browning heavy machine gun.
