At 11:30 noon on July 13, 1918, the Allied Forces Central Group Headquarters in Ufa, forty kilometers south of Bavre

The most depressed and angry people on the Ufa battlefield in the past two days were undoubtedly the deputy chief of staff of the coalition forces, the commander of the Chinese Third Army, and the temporarily formed commander of the Ufa Central Cluster, General Wu Peifu. This guy led two infantrymen from the First Siberian Army.  After the division was transported by car from Milna to Bavre, it was trapped by heavy rain and strong winds all night and was unable to pursue the Yegorov Division of the 9th Army of the Soviet Red Army overnight. It even originally planned to return to Milna overnight to pick up the Siberian troops.  A coalition convoy of the Third Infantry Division of the Army was stuck on the 120-kilometer road from Bafre back to Milna.

Although Petrovich's Second Ural Cavalry Army, Sergei Balayanov's First Ufa Army, and the First Siberian Army all belong to the Ufa Central Group commanded by Wu Peifu, seeing Petrovich and  Sergei led the cavalry division to win several battles, destroying and capturing a large number of Soviet Red Army troops. Although the four divisions of the First Army of Ufa did not win the battle, they cooperated well with the operations of the Second Cavalry Army.  action, and accepted a large number of Soviet prisoners and wounded from the cavalry army, which can be regarded as indispensable.

In contrast, Wu Peifu, who directly commanded the three Russian new divisions of the First Siberian Army, was always busy, let alone fighting. Apart from the Soviet Red Army who was captured by his brother's troops, he saw no enemies.  Catching up, how can this keep this guy from being depressed!

So on the morning of July 13th, seeing that the heavy rain that had fallen all night had stopped, Commander-in-Chief Wu Peifu led the two Russian recruit divisions on hand to leave Bavre and pursue the south. Due to the weather, the Hawkeye early warning aircraft and the air force obviously had no hope.  Up, but Wu Peifu had a hunch that the main force of Yegorov's Ninth Army must have withdrawn to the south, so it was absolutely right to pursue it southward. As for when they could catch up, as the saying goes, everything depends on man and God, so we can only go first.  Let¡¯s wait and see!

After a whole morning's journey from Bafre, the two infantry divisions struggled against the muddy roads and strong winds, and only traveled 40 kilometers. When they stopped to rest at noon, the radio was turned on.  Damn, the good news from the coalition forces reported by Ufa is one after another. First, the cavalry battalion left by Li Mingzhong in the town of Sterli Tamak was surrounded and attacked by an infantry division and a cavalry brigade in Tukhachevsky.  The soldiers held the town and caused huge damage to the enemy. The casualties of the Soviet First Army were at least one regiment.

Then Sergei, a lucky guy, surrounded and annihilated the remaining troops of the Soviet Second Army Ma Xin during the reinforcement of the town of Sterli Tamak, hunting rabbits and capturing the other group army commander Ma Xin alive.  What do you think these guys from the Soviet Red Army are thinking? They are running to the southeast. They are simply avoiding me, Marshal Wu, and not giving me a chance to show off my power in person!

The next telegram made Wu Peifu faint even more. Sergey, who had a good reputation during the defensive battle under the city of Ufa, led three cavalry regiments and not only captured Ma Xin alive, but also captured him in the town of Sterli Tamak  Using the method of dividing and conquering, Tukhachevsky's two infantry divisions were annihilated in one fell swoop. Tukhachevsky's remaining troops, one division and one cavalry regiment, had fled south without knowing their whereabouts.

Wu Peifu was completely speechless by the performance of the cavalry army in the past two days. Perhaps the disappearance of the rest of Tukhachevsky's troops was the only consolation for the deputy chief of staff of the coalition who was in urgent need of personal command and achievements. Since Tukhachevs  Ji has not been arrested yet, which means that he still has a chance to catch him personally. Although he is at least 180 kilometers south of the town of Sterli Tamak in the east, Tukhachevsky might be eaten anyway.  Unfortunately, he didn't dare to go south, so he turned to the west. As long as he cut off the Soviet Red Army's westward retreat, it would not be a joke to catch Tukhachevsky himself!

Of course, the top priority is to pursue the main force of Yegorov's Ninth Army southward and westward as soon as possible. That guy still has at least five divisions of troops. No, including the cavalry division, that's six divisions. Ufa  No matter how big the plain is, as long as the weather clears up, the coalition's Hawkeye early warning aircraft and reconnaissance aircraft will definitely be able to find this large mass of Soviet Red Army ground troops for me!  As long as he is bitten by me, Wu Peifu will have enough confidence to deal with him even if he only uses the two new Russian divisions in his hands!

However, the road was really muddy and there were many rivers. Yegorov had to travel at least one night longer than his team. How to catch up with the opponent was a headache. Wu Peifu gave the team a hasty rest for half an hour.  , ate some dry food, and then continued to pursue southward with two Russian recruit divisions.

Until noon on July 13, the other coalition forces basically stayed in place to rest and recuperate. The past few days of operations had taken a huge toll on both physical strength and food and ammunition. Jiang Hongyu's armored brigade had traveled the most distance.  The most tiring, and the bad weather and road conditions also had the greatest impact on the armored forces. Therefore, according to the instructions of the Ufa Allied Forces Command, Chiang Kai-shekHongyu's armored brigade continued to stay on the front line of Bafre for rest and recuperation, while the engineering regiment stepped up efforts to establish a field airport at Bafre.

Xiong Shihui's 180th Infantry Regiment of the 60th Mixed Brigade in Almetyevsk was stationed in Bafre. The main force of the Mixed Brigade stayed in place. Tens of thousands of Soviet prisoners and wounded were a big burden. I really couldn't let go and just left them behind.  Regardless, the Japanese 13th Infantry Brigade continues to camp thirty kilometers east of Almetyevs. The Soviet Fifth Army has been completely wiped out, and only the enemy in the north is missing.  The remnants of Hevezin and Yankovgai numbered 7,000 people.

In addition to the Second Infantry Division of the First Ufa Army, those searching for these 7,000 people also included two cavalry regiments of Petrovich's Second Ural Cavalry Corps, and the Japanese Seventh Infantry Division under the command of Kanji Ishihara.  Cavalry regiment, so Xiong Shihui ordered the Japanese 13th Infantry Brigade to stay where they were and wait for the enemy to be discovered before making further plans.

By noon on July 13, 1918, among the Soviet Red Army troops on the right bank of the Volga River, Slavin's Fifth Army was completely wiped out, Maxin's Second Army was completely wiped out, and Rzhevsky's Third Army was completely wiped out.  The army group still has the remnants of more than 5,000 people from Hevezin who have not been found. In addition to the remnants of 2,000 people from Tukhachevsky's First Army led by political commissar Yankovgai, there are also Tukhachev in the south.  A cavalry regiment and the 31st Infantry Division beside Ski were not wiped out, and all other units of the First Army were wiped out.

The most well-preserved strength of the Soviet Red Army is the Egorov Ninth Army of the Southern Front. This army, with its five under-manned infantry divisions and Budyonny's cavalry division, all escaped the coalition's aerial reconnaissance and ground forces.  In pursuit, they took advantage of the wind and rain all night and fled southward desperately.

By noon on July 13, Yegorov's five infantry divisions, which had reduced their strength to 33,000 men, were located near the village of Troitskoye, 60 kilometers southwest of Abdulino, and only 69 kilometers away from Bluzuk in the southwest.  , it is only 150 kilometers away from the Samara region in the west, and after the Budyonny Special Cavalry Division of Yegorov's Ninth Army arrived at Krasnogorski before dawn, this place is 150 kilometers away from Yegorov.  The village of Troitskoye, where the husband was camped, was less than 30 kilometers away.

At noon on July 13, 1918, when Maxin suffered a tragic fate and Tukhachevsky fled with less than a regiment of cavalry, Yegorov's five infantry divisions of the Ninth Army unexpectedly  Miraculously, the Budyonny Cavalry Division, which had lost contact with itself for two days, successfully reunited near the village of Troitskoye!

At this time, the closest coalition ground troops to them were 120 kilometers away!  Yegorov's troops secretly saw a glimmer of hope in retreating to the left bank of the Volga River. If the weather can remain in such bad conditions, at least until they reach Samara, the coalition's ground troops will not be able to catch up with them!

This is the only thing Yegorov hopes and prays for. From a side perspective, the troops brought out by this guy have strong cohesion and a strong sense of direction. The Tsaritsyn and Simbirsk groups are obviously not the same pot.  A good partner for mixing!
