read_content_up;If he were not afraid of the unpredictable consequences of giving up large tracts of territory in the south, Kamenev, a member of the Soviet Central Committee who had a vested interest in taking over Joseph, would of course hope to transfer the 10th and 8th, the two main groups of the original Southern Front.  Go to the north to fight, so that you can completely get rid of the bad habit of Tsaritsyn's southern faction claiming to be one general and refusing to accept the orders of the foreign emperor!  However, Kamenev really does not want the large tracts of land and people in the south to fall into the hands of the White Guards If the price paid is too high, if Moscow pursues the case in the future, his own military and political commissar will bear the brunt of being held accountable!

"Comrade Political Commissar, I completely agree with Comrade Voroshilov's idea. Tonight we must race against time to send all the trains we can send to the south. We should requisition all available locomotives and wagons along the way. I suggest  , you can transfer an infantry brigade from the Tukhachevsky 1st Army in Saransk to escort the train along the way to ensure that the train can reach Kuznetsov early tomorrow morning. You may also need to be prepared to fight with infiltration saboteurs along the way.  Prepare!"

"At the same time, the front headquarters should send a telegram to the headquarters of Gidis" and Lasevich as soon as possible, asking them to face Kolchak's efforts to rescue the Cossack cavalry divisions in the two demilitarized buffer zones.  It is very likely that a full-scale attack will be launched against them after 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. To this end, Gidis's 10th and 8th Group Armies should properly organize alternate cover and start withdrawing south no later than 4 o'clock tomorrow morning.  Just retreat to Kuznetsov. Except for the weapons, ammunition and food, you can leave all the other jars and cans behind, leaving behind the blocking troops!¡±

Berzin's statement obviously added the final weight for the political commissar of the front army to accept Voroshilov's proposition. Of course, it can also be seen as the commander of the 3rd Army setting up a ladder for political commissar Kamenev to step down.  Xie Kamenev, commander of the 5th Army, added,

"The front army headquarters can order Budyonny's cavalry army to use its maximum ability to harass and contain Kolchak's main force to the north, strike and cut off the opponent's transportation lines, and strive to delay Kolchak's pursuit southward. In addition  Is it possible to negotiate with the Volga Federation through Moscow, and the Soviet Red Army will withdraw from the Sezlan front line? For this reason, we hope to use the non-military buffer zone, and we can ""accept the other party's armed escort"

"Okay! This is a good idea! This way it will be foolproof!" Voroshilov, Chernawin and Berzin almost shouted in unison.

July 31, 1918 0:15 Headquarters of the 10th Army of the Soviet Volga Front, fifty-five kilometers southwest of Simbirsk

"Reporting to the commander, we have just received an urgent telegram from the front army headquarters, requiring us to start retreating south no later than 4 a.m., with the target Kuznetsov! Tukhachevsky's 1st Army General  Vasily Ivanovich Chapayev was sent to command the 1st Brigade of the 1st Chapayev Division and rushed to Kuznetsov by train to meet us. The intention of the front headquarters was obviously to abandon the southern front battlefield.  , concentrate all the main forces of the front army on the northern front!"

The person who hurriedly entered the door was the new chief of staff of the Soviet 10th Army, the former commander of the 1st Tsaritsyn Iron Infantry Division Dmitry Grigorievich Pavlov, who had followed Comrade Joseph into Moscow in a show of glory.  The garrison division was properly protected by Sverdlov and Kamenev. "Beiyang 1917 Chapter 749 Forty-proof?" After handling the incident of the 1st Iron Infantry Division at Moscow University, the 1st Iron Infantry Division was left behind.  In Moscow, it was renamed the 1st Guards Rifle Division and was directly under the command of the Supreme Military Council of Soviet Russia.

The young division commander Dmitry Grigorievich Pavlov was promoted to the chief of staff of the group army by the line of fire, along with his former division political commissar Dzhugashvili and two brigade commanders Gorberman.  and Graglev rushed to Simbirsk to take office. From this point, it can be seen that Moscow has become proficient in playing the role of overt and covert drinking to release military power. Of course, in name, Pavlov was appointed as the group army commander.  Further training in the position for future use.

Fortunately, the new commander of the 10th Army, Gidis, was very understanding. He gave the position of division commander of the 1st Kameshin Infantry Division of the Army to Pavlov, the Chief of Staff of the Army. Dzhugashvili, Gorbo  Mann and Graglev still served as the division political commissar and brigade commander, while the former division commander political commissar of the 1st Kameshin Infantry Division assumed the position of commander of the newly expanded 42nd Infantry Division on the way north.

At this time, the 7 "Beiyang 1917" infantry divisions within the Soviet 10th Army were the 1st Kamishin Infantry Division, the 37th Infantry Division, the 38th Division, the 39th Division, the 40th Division, the 41st Infantry Division and  42nd Division.  In order to cover the five main divisions of the 10th Army led by Gidis and Klyuev to go south, the young Army Chief of Staff Pavlov personally led the Kameshin 1st Infantry Division and the 42nd Infantry Division to stay to stop Hastings.  The White Guards' eastern cluster.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????OUTOUT THE SOUTH FRONT OF THE SOVIET SOUTH FRONT??Si Leng used 2 infantry divisions to frighten the main force of the Hastings South East Cluster through counterattacks. The 4 Kazan White Guards infantry divisions were defeated by the counterattack of two Soviet Red Army infantry divisions.  Stunned, of course, this is also inseparable from the support of the cannons that Giddis left for Pavlov's eight artillery batteries.

Hastings' caution allowed Pavlov to retreat despite the superior strength of the White Guards after Pavlov's counterattack. Of course, the price was not small. Hastings had said so in his original victory telegram to Kolchak.  The cluster defeated the 1st Kameshin Infantry Division and the 42nd Infantry Division behind the Soviet 10th Army, wiping out 2 enemy regiments and capturing nearly a thousand prisoners. The 6th Kazan Infantry Division of the White Guards suffered more than 2,000 casualties.

The actual situation was not that far off, but it was much worse than Hastings' so-called defeat. The 42nd Infantry Division of the Soviet Red Army lost one and a half regiments, and the 1st Kamishin Infantry Division lost  Two battalions, and the two Soviet Red Army infantry divisions that retreated to the southwest and southeast respectively, finally returned to the sequence of the Gidis 10th Army unscathed.

Based on this wonderful performance in the last battle, Dmitry Grigorievich Pavlov secured his position as Chief of Staff of the 10th Army, and allowed the 1st Kamishin Infantry Division to continue his original command.  After the 1st Tsaritsyn Iron Infantry Division, it once again became the main ace division of the entire group army.
