One of the Demonic Rebels: The Floating Pot Space©¤Long Yingtai

Long Yingtai (1952), whose pen name is Hu Meili, is a Manchu. He was born in the military dependents village of Daliao Township, Kaohsiung County, Taiwan (now Daliao District, Kaohsiung City). He is a famous Taiwanese writer and the first director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taipei City.  ¡òLiterary Museumr />

(The author was studying when he was a child, and was surprised to be a master. For the first time, he admired the girl's thoughts that were ahead of the author's. It is true that many years later, the author's world is different from the one when he was a child)

His father, Long Huaisheng, was originally from the Manchu clan of Hengshan, Hunan. After the mid-Qing Dynasty, he was a Mongolian and Manchu clan named Long. His Chinese surname was Long. He served as the director of the Yuanli Branch of the Miaoli County Police Station. His mother, Ying Meijun, was from Chun, Zhejiang Province.  An, who moved to Taiwan after the Civil War between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, has four sons and one daughter.

Long Yingtai grew up in Yuanli, Miaoli, Taiwan. He attended Yuanli Elementary School and Yuanli Junior High School, and was fluent in Minnan. Later, he moved to Qiecheng, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where he became an alumnus of Tainan Girls' High School.

After graduating from the Department of Foreign Languages ??and Literature at National Cheng Kung University in 1974, Long went to the United States to study and later received a PhD in English and American Literature from Kansas State University.  After graduation, he taught at the City University of New York, Massey College, the English Department of National Central University, Tamkang University, and Heidelberg University in Germany.

In 1984, Long wrote the column "Wild Fire" in China Times, which aroused enthusiastic response. It was published the following year and reprinted 24 times in 21 days. It was a book that had great influence on the development of Taiwan's democracy in the 1980s.  Out of the corner of my eye I called it a tornado.

In 1999, at the invitation of Taipei Mayor Ma Ying-jeou, Long Yingtai served as the first director of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taipei City. During this period, he promoted policies and measures such as local culture and tree protection.

In February 2003, Long Yingtai resigned and returned to writing.  In August of that year, he went to Hong Kong, where he spent his first year at the City University of Hong Kong and later served as a visiting professor at the University of Hong Kong.

July 2005.  Together with a group of cultural figures and entrepreneurs who advocate social participation, we co-founded the Long Yingtai Cultural Foundation.

In October 2008, the University of Hong Kong appointed Lung Ying-tai as the first Kongliang Qiaoling Outstanding Humanities Scholar, and established the Lung Ying-tai Writing Studio at the Parkey College of Hong Kong University.

In August 2009, "River and Sea 1949" was published, which caused great repercussions in the Chinese world.  In February 2011, Li Ao published "The Great River and the Great Sea Lied You", which ridiculed and refuted the historical view of "The Great River and the Great Ocean 1949".

When Long Yingtai was the Minister of Culture, he was called the Dragon Queen, the Dragon Queen, and the Dragon Fairy by reporters.

On September 18, 2012, Long Yingtai said: Compared with other countries.  Taiwan's ministerial salary of 150,000 yuan per month is indeed too low, which involves the issue of national competitiveness.

On December 12, 2012, Long Yingtai said: Ma Ying-jeou was choked when his shoe was thrown, which was a kind of bullying.

In 2013, Chen Lerong criticized the Ministry of Culture under Long Yingtai for lacking specific policies.  He can only organize forums and dialogues, and calls Long Yingtai the forum minister.

In the 1980s, Long Yingtai married her German ex-husband and gave birth to two sons, the eldest son Andre and the second son Philip (Long's 2007 book "Dear Andre" is about her and her eldest son Andre.  composed of intense communications).

In 1986, Long Yingtai and his family lived in Switzerland, and in 1988 they moved to Germany.  Offered courses on Taiwanese literature at the Department of Chinese Studies at Heidelberg University.

He is the author of "Wild Fire Collection" and other commentaries.  Prose "A Hundred Years of Thoughts", "When Facing the Sea", "Child, Take Your Time", etc.  In recent years, Long Yingtai has pointed out the advantages of the democratic system on many different occasions, which has aroused widespread response and controversy.

Some of Long Yingtai¡¯s works have aroused widespread responses and discussions from readers.  "Wild Fire Collection" caused great repercussions and discussions in Taiwan at that time.  There were four additional printings within 20 days, totaling approximately 100,000 copies.  The number of book buyers plus the circulation population was equivalent to 20%-60% of the reading population in Taiwan at that time.

"Wild Fire Collection" was later published in mainland China and generated an enthusiastic response among college students across the mainland.  Many college students believe that the book is critical of not only Taiwan but also mainland China.  It even seems to be written for mainland China.  The "Wild Fire Collection" currently published in China is an abridged version.

"Ah, Shanghai man!  ¡·.  After it was published in Wenhui Po PEN on January 7, 1997, it caused an uproar.  Shanghai men called the newspaper office one after another and cursed the author for insulting Shanghai men. In fact, Shanghai men are still real men.

Later, this article and other articles were compiled into the book "Ah, Shanghai Man!"  ¡·, including Long Yingtai¡¯s humanistic views on some visited cities or countries.

In an article criticizing mainland China, he wrote: Democracy is not just about voting in elections, it is a way of life, a way of thinking, the air you breathe every day, the cultivation of your actions, and the space for personal transformation.

This cannot be seen in the small square window.  So if you are disappointed with the chaos in the small square, don¡¯t forget that true democracy is in life, in the depth and breadth beyond the square.

She also criticized Taiwan¡¯s rulers: It is basic conduct to refuse to accept an offer, and honesty is the first principle; inWhen facing China's rulers, she wrote this in her article: Do you allow the media to be independent? Do you respect intellectuals? What attitude do you use to face your own history? What methods do you use to treat the people? Every little thing.  The decision is all tied to the word civilization.

Long Yingtai once said: I actually just don¡¯t believe that human rights should be distinguished by political stance.  Kuomintang, Communist Party, Democratic Progressive Party, the damn party, if human dignity is not your core value, if you allow human rights to be defined by power, then you are nothing but the object of my contempt.  No need to scare me.

For the power sectors of being political officials and intellectuals:

Should political officials use the power of intellectuals-writers?  It shouldn't be.  Once you go to sea and become a political officer, you should be the subject of review and criticism from all parties.

The stage of a political affairs officer is his administration, and all his self-defense should be self-evident in his administration measures.  On the one hand, we have the power to practice governance, but at the same time we want to have the sharp tool of intellectual speech when we are criticized. Isn¡¯t it the same as being a player on the field and a referee who blows the whistle to determine success or failure?

It is dishonest to have two powers at the same time to use the spear of the son to attack the shield of the son.  My pen cannot be taken out of its sheath.

" ¡ª¡ªLong Yingtai's "When Power is in Hand"

After taking office as the Minister of Culture, when DPP legislators Duan Yikang and Zheng Lijun questioned the June 4 incident, he refused to take a stand on democracy and human rights issues, causing controversy.

Long Yingtai responded that because the Ministry of Culture will negotiate with the mainland under the framework of ecfa, in order to avoid causing problems during negotiations, as the Minister of Culture, she refused to make any response to this,

As for her position as a writer, it has been clearly written in her book.  People such as Yang Xianhong and Chen Fangming criticized this, believing that her attitude failed to show that the government insists on human rights as Taiwan's core value.
