    ?

The judge said: "The plaintiff's lawyer, please provide strong evidence to prove that the defendant does have a motive for committing the crime."

"Yes, Your Honor." Huo Junfeng followed suit, "In order to prove that the defendant planned to murder my client, I request the arraignment of ard reporter Wagner."

Zhao Lingnan couldn't sit still when he heard Wagner's name.

Wagner is the red-haired reporter who asked questions at the embassy press conference and participated in the interview. She revealed that Qin Yi had spread rumors that day in order to discredit Qin Yi, but Qin Yi caught the loophole.

Hank was annoyed that she was causing trouble, but he persuaded him, "Don't worry, Wagner won't talk nonsense."

Zhao Lingnan barely calmed down, watched Wagner walk into the courtroom and sat on the witness stand.

Wearing a valuable black suit, Wagner looks like a dog, as if he is still the high-spirited and authoritative media reporter, but his spirit is languid and his eyes are shrinking, which is quite different from his aggressive appearance during the press conference.

Huo Junfeng asked: "Wagner, at the press conference of the Huaguo Embassy in Germany last week, you pointed out in public that the defendant had to meet with my client again because my client spread rumors and influenced her to choose a partner, right?"

Wagner looked up at the auditorium, met someone's cold gaze, and shook his head quickly: "No! I'm talking nonsense!"

There were whispers in the auditorium, and the embassy press conference was very noisy. Almost everyone present knew that Wagner's tone at the press conference did not seem like nonsense.

"That's not what you said at the press conference."

"Me, I'm just here to make news."

"You mean, you lied in front of the whole world in order to make news?"

Wagner's face twitched, and he hesitated for a few seconds. Thinking of the threat he had received, he gritted his teeth and said: "Yes, I just want to be famous. Ms. Zhao Lingnan never said those words to me, I made them up!"

"Are you sure? There are video recordings of what you said at the time. I will ask an expert to identify your micro-expressions at the time to determine whether you are lying or not. If you are not lying, you are giving perjury now-you have to think about it."

"Against plaintiff's attorney threatening witnesses!" Hank raised his hand.

"Plaintiff's lawyer, German law does not accept polygraphs, please pay attention to your words!" The judge warned.

Hank pretended to be kind and said: "Plaintiff's lawyer, if you have any questions, please ask quickly, and the verdict will be pronounced after asking."

"There are indeed a few more questions." Huo Junfeng turned his target to the police representative, "After my client was sniped, the forest rangers and tourists called the police, but the Berlin Police Department did nothing, and no one was sent to investigate my client.  Rescue, please explain why the Berlin police did not call the police?"

The police lawyer was ashamed and said: "This matter is indeed the police's negligence. The operator that night deliberately concealed the two calls to the police for personal reasons, and because he was afraid of taking responsibility, he deleted the call records."

Huo Junfeng smiled sarcastically: "It is obvious that someone colluded with the Berlin Police Department to cover up the crime after failing to deliberately snipe at my client! It cannot be explained by a single dereliction of duty."

"Since the plaintiff's lawyer doesn't believe it, Your Honor, I ask the operator on the night of the arraignment to testify in court."

Huo Junfeng knew that the operator was the culprit of the Berlin Police Department, but he did not object to the subpoena operator. Although there was no evidence to refute the other party, the Berlin Police Department wanted to show their limits in front of the media, and he did not hinder him from giving the other party this opportunity.

Soon, the operator was brought to court.

This is a woman in her thirties, with a slightly fat body, wearing a dark blue casual dress, even with makeup on, her exhausted and decadent face cannot be concealed. After entering the court, she kept her head down. Qin Yi noticed her  A wedding ring is worn on the ring finger of the left hand.

After confirming the other party's identity, the police lawyer asked, "Did you receive two calls to the police at around nine o'clock in the evening on September 20?"

"Got it." The operator said indifferently, "First, it was a call from a camping tourist, claiming to have heard gunshots, explosions, and seeing flames, and suspected that there was a shooting; the other was a call from a forest ranger, claiming to have found a car.  The car exploded, no one was found at the scene."

    "Why didn't you report?"

The operator's lips trembled slightly, and he said calmly: "Because I thought the tourist was playing a prank, and after about half an hour, the ranger called and I realized that the tourist was not lying. Because I was afraid of delaying the rescue and exposure, I chose to continue to conceal the call to the police.  And the relevant records were deleted."

The police lawyer was very satisfied with her answer and said loudly: "The law?My lord, the reason why the police didn¡¯t call the police was because the operator concealed it. The police are indeed responsible for negligence of duty, but it is definitely not colluding with criminals and deliberately concealing the case as the plaintiff¡¯s lawyer said!  "

The operator's statement is not rigorous enough, but it is reasonable. If there is no other evidence, the Berlin Police Department can at most bear the responsibility for a dereliction of duty.

"I have a few questions." After getting permission from the judge, Huo Junfeng asked the operator: "You thought it was a prank and chose to ignore the call to the police? How did you get admitted to the police?"

The operator blushed, "I was in a bad mood that night, and I didn't know why I did that."

"Oh, if you are in a bad mood, you will dereliction of duty and help the murderer cover up the crime? Are the professionalism of the Berlin police like yours?"

Contemptuous glances were cast from the auditorium, and the operator's head almost fell to his chest, "I will be punished for my actions. You can't prejudice the Berlin police because of me."

"I can't see that you are quite protective of your colleagues."

    The operator was silent.

"But do you think that if you admit that you did all this, you really did it?"

The operator looked up, "What do you mean? I have already admitted my mistake, why are you still holding on?"

"Even if the murderer jumps out to say that he is the murderer, the court will not confirm that he is the murderer. The conviction needs other witnesses to prove that he is the murderer. ¡ª¡ª Your testimony is just one piece of evidence.  No one ordered you, and further investigation and evidence collection are needed to determine whether you are negligent or impostor."

The police lawyer raised his hand: "No! The plaintiff's lawyer's guess is groundless, and the evidence of the operator's malfeasance is clear. There is no need for other investigations."

"The objection is valid." The judge clearly favored the Berlin police, "Plaintiff's lawyer, please don't make unfounded guesses."

Huo Junfeng spread his hands: "Well, if I can't even make a reasonable inference in court, then I have nothing to say."

The judge was twitched by his sarcasm. Although his superiors demanded that Zhao Lingnan be acquitted in court, he has not yet reached the age of retirement. If unfair news is exposed by the media, his political career will be over.  Quickly remedied: "Reasonable inferences can be made, but you can't produce evidence every time. All inferences are just a waste of time." (Remember the website website: www.hlnovel.com
